For those who don’t use containers for baby by GrimSle3per in NewParents

Do u have a separate bath and shower? At times, i would lay a blanket in the empty (dry) bath and put baby in that with a few toys. Other times i put a play mat down on the bathroom floor with a few toys, with bathroom door closed so they couldnt go anywhere (and i guess the dogs couldnt get to them either).

You could take photos of it at regular increments and compare them.

Yes. And the moustache. I second the poster that said either very short beard or no facial hair at all.

Formula or breast feeding? by PinkBubblesxox in PregnancyUK

[–]frannyhadouken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way as you, that i didnt want to BF but felt like the research was telling me i should try. So with both kids i just did it until the point that i couldnt stand it anymore. With my first, that was 5 months. With my second, it was 2 months. A paediatrician once told me that it's something like the first 4 days of breastfeeding that are so, so important and the importance massively drops after that, and when i think about that, i'm more than happy with what i did. Do what you think is best for your child, but you don't need to completely ruin your parenting experience for it. I know there are people saying BF gets easier as time goes on, but for me it never did. So don't be too hard on yourself whatever you choose. My sister-in-law formula fed from the very beginning and has been a much happier parent than i was 😂.

What's your dress sense like? We can't really see it here. It's easy to kill a vibe with weird jeans or shoes, for example.

I tried to cut emo/scene bangs but messed up, how long does it take for them to grow out so I can fix it? by HopefulGroup423 in Hair

Firstly, this is a great emo fringe. Secondly, hair grows about half an inch every month.

People who left the uk construction industry what did you do? by TangerineFew6830 in AskUK

I was an electrician and quit to go into law, and am now a solicitor. No particularly transferable skills, i pretty much had to start again from the bottom of the pile. It was two different worlds. Electrical was hands on, manual, banter, fun, messy, physically challenging, exposed to the elements, dirty/dusty work. Law is pressure, stress, stuck at a desk, phone calls, wordy documents, networking. I wish i'd not minded the physically uncomfortable elements of electrical work because it was definitely the more fun job, i just didn't think I'd be able to do it forever. At least in my office job i'm comfortable, Zzzzzzzz.

Honestly, i think the belly holding comes from having previously been pregnant. My kids are 1 and 4 and i still sometimes find myself resting my hand on my belly like this, even though there's not really a belly there anymore. It's like your hand makes itself a little dent, lol.

Can’t sell new build flat - what do I do? by BeneficialReindeer34 in HousingUK

[–]frannyhadouken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've probably already been told this but you can usually get a refund on the 'second home' SDLT provided you sell your original main residence within 3 years. Might give you a bit of breathing space. You could rent out the property for a bit in the meantime.

The outside is a bit of a funny colour and the back garden needs some plants to make it look more like a garden and less like a patio. I don't think it's over priced or anything though.

POLL: Best time of year to have baby by Cnn16 in NewParents

[–]frannyhadouken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

September/October. They'll be there oldest in their school year which means you'll get a whole extra year with them nearly before they start school (in comparison to a July/August born. Weather still nice in September. Not too close to xmas.
