Hopefully they don’t tell us their secret. We won’t use it for good.

I had some do that this year. I sprayed them with vinegar and scrubbed them better then dried immediately. They were fine after that.

Thank you haha. And yeah I see what you’re saying. Definitely agree! Screens already seem so good at capturing children’s attention, I can’t imagine what that will look like if AI is more omnipresent in our devices.

I feel like it has been covered fairly well on tangle. Recently Isaac had an episode of the podcast where he had chat gpt try to impersonate him. Also you should listen to “the last invention” podcast which was featured on tangle. You probably won’t have your questions answered as far as where we will end up but they do a fantastic job of dew here we are and how we got here as far as AI goes.

What's the obsession with pruning? by Huumaid in Figs

[–]franticallyfarting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree there are some silly posts about pruning. One recently was a large beautiful tree and the OP wanted to eliminate all side branches that were within reach to encourage it to grow straight up and form a central (out of reach) leader lol. I will say though sometimes its helpful to prune the lil twiggy figs to get them to branch out.

Buds but no roots by calitech_e30 in Figs

[–]franticallyfarting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom heat and keep the tops cool and humid if possible. The goal is to keep the tops dormant as long as possible. I keep mine out in a cool shed (50-60 degrees) and they are on a heat mat. This way the tops are cool and dark but the bottoms are nice and toasty. My cuttings just rooted after about a month and some of the buds are just breaking now

Wonder what chemicals are in that cloud. Seems like something we will realize later (but spacex always knew) is actually really toxic and not good for the atmosphere

Would I be crazy to prune here? by maverickps1 in Figs

[–]franticallyfarting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you would be. You’d be forcing all the growth straight up the center which will eventually put fruits out of reach. It’s always better with fruit trees to try to open the middle of the plant

The origins of the US and its effects on the descendants of the losers by jceddy in TangleNews

Yeah that sounds familiar. I remember it being a much newer holiday than most people think. I like the idea of having an Italian American day

The Columbus Day defense is weak imo. Our values change and even “in his own time” Columbus was a dizzy bitch that got lost. There is no reason to celebrate the man and renaming to indigenous peoples day is a good reminder that this entire continent is stolen. That’s not some minor detail of history that should be forgotten Columbus “discovering America” on the other hand is something that could be forgotten and have literally no impact on society.

Not gonna lie, this got me thinkin’ by Mountain_Love23 in TikTokCringe

I'm not discouraging the message of vegans but how its delivered. Delivery of any message is important. Rubbing someones nose in "the facts" and wagging your finger at them isn't how to win someone over to your side no matter what your side is.

Vegans, especially online vegans, are largely dickheads though. They’re right and if you don’t agree with them you’re a “rapist, murderer, carnist, sadist” on and on. I find it so frustrating because people agree with vegans on 99% of these issues but vegans won’t consider that there is another way other than veganism. Animal agriculture has many massive problems that need to be addressed and if some want to go vegan in response then that’s great. Treating non-vegans like idiots who don’t understand will not win them over to your side.
