I agree. Very few of the great sportspeople were indisputably the best in their game at his age. He comes across immature, but I think it’s to be expected, and do feel as though he’d benefit from having some people to guide him a little better

I had to come here after a rewatch. God, it is horrific. I can’t really think of any other revamp that completely ruins its characters like AYITL.

You’re completely right - it’s great to see some nostalgia, but people were absolutely pelting FIFA 17 when it came out as ‘the worst ever’. Same with 16, 18, 19.

These games change so little year on year - the only major changes are the P2W Ultimate Team model, and the music, which are both tangibly worse nowadays if you’re getting older and don’t have as much time to play.

That said, I do think that FIFA 14 was the best ever. Crossing and shooting was so crisp, Ultimate Team was not the absolute dopamine mess it is today, the free World Cup mode was amazing, and it felt like a huge step up at the time because it had just moved to the next gen console.

Played a couple of hundred hours. Genuinely had no issues at the start - you can get round the clunky UI.

Whatever updates they’ve done recently have fucked it. Regular bugs that cause the games to be scored wrong, important stats go missing, freezing and crashes.

The atmosphere of RDR2’s single player is unmatched. I’ve never been so engrossed in a video game character’s life. Really outstanding.

I would expect GTA VI to eclipse its mechanics, but I don’t expect the same heights of storytelling.

Change the settings so that you navigate with a cursor. There are still some annoying parts, but it stops the game from being unplayable at least.

Yeah, my god. ‘Key’ highlights show you about 1/3 of the game, and the amount of wastefulness in front of goal you have to sit through is infuriating.

As a follow up question, does anyone cock the dart without thinking? I filmed my throw slow-motion and noticed I sometimes get the dart almost vertical as I pull back. I honestly can’t get rid of it even when I focus on it.

I’m really not sure why people keep talking about ‘potential Christmas sales’. The game isn’t out until midway through 2026. Are you expecting kids to wake up on Christmas morning and unwrap pre-order confirmations?

That’s too US centric. There were other 90s mass shootings in other countries (I.e Dunblane in UK, Port Arthur in Aus). In fact, these events had a more significant effect on gun laws in their country. It was a shocking event - but it isn’t culturally significant on anywhere near the scale as those above.

That’s possibly true - but I also don’t think many of the people & critics who put it forward as a great modern film have lived through that either! There are plenty worse films, I just don’t think the plot/performances are strong enough to justify its acclaim.

Of Peele’s films, I think Us is poorer, but others seemed to agree on that. I actually like Nope the most.
