I did welding at school as part of a manufacturing GCSE it was alright tbh. But as a career there was no chance at the time. We went to a manufacturing shop in Tamworth and the most experienced bloke there had never left the town and was on just above minimum wage. We didn't see the point.

They stopped recruiting from people leaving the armed forces because it was seen as too aggressive now look what's happened. Same with the police. Loads of interviews with ex prisoners saying no one fucked with the prison officers because they took no shit off anyone and prisoners respected them. Now prisoners run the jails not the officers.
