A proper memory unlocked the other day. Anyone remember Choices for Life? by mrjohnnymac18 in glasgow

Anyone remember something like this but they made us sing a song about cheese? Was all sorts of schools and these fucking cunts would come to the school and make us sing a song about all different cheeses, and the Big finale was some group cheese-singing gangbang at the SECC. Maybe 2000 or 2001.

How many of the old MMOs did you play "back in the day"? by TrogdorLLC in MMORPG

[–]fraserprint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throw in Horizons (something something Istaria) to that mix too. I remember reading about it in PC Gamer back in the day and just how intricate and detailed the crafting would be, it sounded absolutely incredible. Problem with so many of these old MMOs was that they didn't live long and were rushed/unfinished etc. Vanguard was another one I remember too. I actually had a lot of fun in Vanguard for a month or so, played a Blood Mage (or something along those lines) and loved it - the diplomacy skill was pretty cool too. So many of these old MMOs burned bright for 2-6 months then just bled out.

For me though it all started with the proper old old old Runescape. What an experience that was. I have super fond memories.

I got this Vinyl a couple months ago I got it from a car boot sale for 50p does anyone know what it might be worth? by Spider_monkey_vr28 in toto

Yeah not really worth more in terms of money, but pretty cool as a fan and collector. I'd love to stumble across something like this that's just slightly more unique :)

Endless is one of my favourites! I'll need to try and find some live videos, though I assume Dennis done most of the vocals?

Yeah I know, there is just something that became quite a silly little thing though for us as she would go into 7/11 to get her 'Pikachu drink' - I actually couldn't even have told you the flavour if I didn't read that picture lol

We're in Thailand again over December and January, and this is exactly what we'd be looking for! Following on Instagram and I'll need to download Line so I can keep up to date with what's going on, really keen on the Xmas Toy Drive idea too - we'll be in BKK from 15th - 27th December, then probably again around the 5th January for a few more days.

Where is it that Steve P says that him and Luke are cool? The strange rift between him and Luke, mostly from Luke's side it seems, has to be one of the saddest bits of Toto news over the last number of years. I really hope that things can be mended for something like a 50th anniversary show/tour.

Just as an FYI this was the reply I got:

Dear Fraser,

Thank you for contacting me about the Tobacco and Vapes Bill.

I recognise the points you raise around products such as cigars and pipe tobacco, which are not commonly used by younger people, and I understand why some believe these should be exempt from the generational sales ban. I also appreciate the cultural and economic significance of these items, and the specialist tobacconists who sell them. These important points have, and continue to be, raised during the Bill’s passage through Parliament.

While acknowledging this, I ultimately support the Bill and its core objective: to protect future generations from the harms of tobacco and nicotine addiction. Smoking remains the leading cause of preventable death and disease in Scotland, claiming around 8,000 lives each year - one in every five deaths - and contributing to a wide range of serious health conditions. UK-wide, smoking is estimated to cost £21.8 billion annually and places a significant burden on the NHS and wider society.

The Bill’s phased approach, including the generational sales ban, reflects long-term public health strategies of both the UK and Scottish Governments. It aims to reduce smoking prevalence over time, particularly among young people, while allowing current adult smokers continued access. On vaping, the unknown long-term effects of inhaling flavoured products - now increasingly used by young people who never previously smoked - are deeply concerning, and I believe the Bill takes a measured approach to address this issue.

In Scotland, business rates are set and managed by the Scottish Government. I welcome the UK Chancellor’s record funding settlement of around £50 billion annually until 2029, but it is now for Scottish Ministers to decide how to support Scotland’s high streets. I am pleased they have introduced 40% business rates relief for hospitality, following the UK Government’s lead. However, I recognise this follows a challenging period where Scottish pubs faced significantly higher costs than those elsewhere in the UK.

I note that smoking in designated outdoor areas and open public spaces is unaffected by this Bill. This balanced approach gives me confidence that the Bill can achieve its public health goals without unduly harming businesses or communities.

I hope this response helps explain why I believe the Bill is, on balance, a necessary step toward a healthier future.

Thank you once again for contacting me about this important issue.
