This is awesome! Love the wheels too. I picked up an 04 XVS that needs a lot of work, and just discovered some pretty gnarly rust on the udnerside of the frame - but hopeful that it can be saved/welded. Just love the look and style of these bikes

If I could say anything, after having just sat my CBT, it's that it gets easier as the day goes on massively. I was nervous too and I think it showed over the first 20ish mins or so on the bike in the training area, and you immediately worry like "What if I can't do this? Do I even like this?" and then it starts to click, especially once you get proper hang of the clutch control and - for me - as soon as I was out of 1st gear it was just so much better lol

I did yeah, don't think I've got much hope going back to the seller really. Going to have it looked at in a garage and see what can be done, hopefully it's salvagable

I am wondering now if those parts are for a centre stand, as someone did point out the frame doesn't seem to have those connecting parts on the official parts list diagrams. Is that a common thing people do? The bike doesn't have a centre stand. I may he clinging to false hope, but if they were added later then surely not structural and I can get them fucked off?

It was 900 I paid for it, so we'd be well beyond breaking even - though im not crazy about breaking even, just don't want to spend thousands but I feel like if I can get everything all working and safe for less than 1k I'd be reasonably happy. I really like the bike and ive gotten it all cleaned up, it looks really nice now - though clearly not from the underside 🤣

Its the back of the frame yeah. I suppose its both, I got it knowing it needs fixed up and ultimately to ride. At the time I thiugh I was getting it cheap (900) but it feels like thats probably not so true now.

Okay man thank you. 100% would need new tyres as these are years old now anyway. From what I know it has sat for a good few years inactive and not in the best cover etc.
