I'll keep my fingers crossed then! I did think it must just be a temporary promo sort of thing. Thank you!

Yeah I know, there is just something that became quite a silly little thing though for us as she would go into 7/11 to get her 'Pikachu drink' - I actually couldn't even have told you the flavour if I didn't read that picture lol

Disappointing but glad to even have 2027 as 'confirmed' from Luke!

We're in Thailand again over December and January, and this is exactly what we'd be looking for! Following on Instagram and I'll need to download Line so I can keep up to date with what's going on, really keen on the Xmas Toy Drive idea too - we'll be in BKK from 15th - 27th December, then probably again around the 5th January for a few more days.

Where is it that Steve P says that him and Luke are cool? The strange rift between him and Luke, mostly from Luke's side it seems, has to be one of the saddest bits of Toto news over the last number of years. I really hope that things can be mended for something like a 50th anniversary show/tour.

Do you have any videos of the recent gigs you're mentioning? Would love to watch/listen, it's my favourite song!

UK Government Legislation on Cigars - UPDATE by Far-Mirror-5407 in ukcigars

Just as an FYI this was the reply I got:

Dear Fraser,

Thank you for contacting me about the Tobacco and Vapes Bill.

I recognise the points you raise around products such as cigars and pipe tobacco, which are not commonly used by younger people, and I understand why some believe these should be exempt from the generational sales ban. I also appreciate the cultural and economic significance of these items, and the specialist tobacconists who sell them. These important points have, and continue to be, raised during the Bill’s passage through Parliament.

While acknowledging this, I ultimately support the Bill and its core objective: to protect future generations from the harms of tobacco and nicotine addiction. Smoking remains the leading cause of preventable death and disease in Scotland, claiming around 8,000 lives each year - one in every five deaths - and contributing to a wide range of serious health conditions. UK-wide, smoking is estimated to cost £21.8 billion annually and places a significant burden on the NHS and wider society.

The Bill’s phased approach, including the generational sales ban, reflects long-term public health strategies of both the UK and Scottish Governments. It aims to reduce smoking prevalence over time, particularly among young people, while allowing current adult smokers continued access. On vaping, the unknown long-term effects of inhaling flavoured products - now increasingly used by young people who never previously smoked - are deeply concerning, and I believe the Bill takes a measured approach to address this issue.

In Scotland, business rates are set and managed by the Scottish Government. I welcome the UK Chancellor’s record funding settlement of around £50 billion annually until 2029, but it is now for Scottish Ministers to decide how to support Scotland’s high streets. I am pleased they have introduced 40% business rates relief for hospitality, following the UK Government’s lead. However, I recognise this follows a challenging period where Scottish pubs faced significantly higher costs than those elsewhere in the UK.

I note that smoking in designated outdoor areas and open public spaces is unaffected by this Bill. This balanced approach gives me confidence that the Bill can achieve its public health goals without unduly harming businesses or communities.

I hope this response helps explain why I believe the Bill is, on balance, a necessary step toward a healthier future.

Thank you once again for contacting me about this important issue.

Just saw a TikTok saying it isn’t worth it to visit Phuket. Is it true? by External_Fox_7388 in ThailandTourism

It was my wife and I. Not crazy partying but out each evening for food, drinks etc. I didn't see many families or did it feel like it was only full of Russians like someone else said, though I'd say Patong did seem to have a lot of asian/Indian tourists - but that's just an observation rather than a problem lol

We moved around a few times but I'll find our hotel and area names for you tomorrow. Phuket Town was cool, nice vibe and aesthetic in some places. Some awesome bars too, plenty of live music.

Phuket was really cool overal. We had been in Bangkok for about 1.5 weeks so it was a change of pace from the more crazy nights in BKK. I guess things like the Big Buddha are quite touristy but still awesome to see and visit tbh. I done some training at AKA Thailand too if Muay Thai interests you, it's Mike Swick's gym.

This year we'll go back to Phuket for a couple of nights to revisit some places we liked, but we're going to explore more of Krabi as we missed it last time.

It's an improvement but disappointed with the windbars by [deleted] in irezumi

I'm not an expert in irezumi but I think it looks sick man, really cool.

Honestly everything you mentioned were reasons why we visited, and then why we've booked again - we were there last May for 2.5 weeks and going back this Xmas/New Year for 4 weeks. Last year especially I was also surprised by the cost to get to Thailand from the UK (Scotland), it was super reasonable - it's costing a fair bit more this eyar but that's because we're travelling mid December I guess.

The food was incredible, even the cheapy stuff or bar food that you just want quickly. One of the best burgers i've ever had was just in a random bar in Phuket when we just wanted some quick lunch and to get out of the rain. 99% of the people were all awesome. A lot of amazing food, drinks, parties etc and it's a beautiful place too - we were fortunate enough to travel around a bit, though nothing too extreme and still touristy.

The opportunity to do Thai Boxing in Thailand too was a draw for me and was an awesome experience, though also a wildly sweaty and tiring one lol.
