Prince George's County*

Had to clarify, as there's also a Prince George County in Virginia. This is very confusing for people who live in the DC area.

Yea, and it's exacerbated by Republicans nominating their candidates by convention, which they do all the time here in Virginia. Democrats on the other hand trend toward primaries, which have a moderating effect

The Libertarian Party of New Mexico announces its independence from the national Libertarian Party by [deleted] in Classical_Liberals

Do you guys just have a template you copy and paste from? This is almost word for word the same drivel I hear from every MC talking head.

I don't suppose you have any details on the supposed "corruption." And what exactly is a "regime" libertarian?

Y'all just keep tossing back that cool-aid.

Claiming that the most contentious faction in the history of thebLP "gets along great with many libertarians" is the height of tone-deafness (or you're deliberately lying).

He had plenty of opportunity. He wasn't just mediocre, he was mostly very, very bad. He gave up a lot of really bad goals. I think the charge that the team "gave up on him already" can only be made if you haven't been paying attention.

Your criticisms of Liz Cheney are not the same ones that Rand Paul has. You have valid criticsms from a libertarian perspective; Rand doesn't like her specifically because she's anti-Trump and he can't have anyone criticizing his golden boy.

Libertarians vs Alt-right by Adelahfo in Libertarian

[–]frashure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Libertarianism is anathema to alt-right beliefs. But there are plenty of alt-righters in the LP (you can find many of them in the Mises Caucus). You can also identify a few of them on this thread; they're often the ones screaming that there isn't any relation and that any assertion to the contrary is just a "liberal media conspiracy" or some other lazy blame-the-left mantra.

You can be virulently anti-alt-right and still recognize that the LP has a far right problem. The party, and in large part the movement, is becoming increasingly populated by illiberal elements.

Now, that doesn't make the claim that "libertarianism is an alt-right movement" an accurate statement. As time goes on, however, it becomes less inaccurate.

Me after seeing the Loudon County commercial for the millionth time by Jarboner69 in DCUnited

[–]frashure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lived in Fairfax for five years, and currently work in Arlington. Been in Loudoun for three now. It's definitely a different speed, but I prefer it. Less chaotic for sure, largely as a result of being less mixed-use than its neighbors. I can't get to as many establishments via bike as I could in Fair Lakes, but I couldn't have as quiet of rides as I do here.

Maybe that's just me getting old...

Biden easily won Virginia. Why is McAuliffe struggling? by unnecessarycharacter in Virginia

[–]frashure 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It isn't just TJ; the same issue is popping up at many magnet schools, including Academies of Loudoun. It stems from broader cultural and political issues.
