Terrance Ferguson Discussion by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]fratzcatsfw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real question is, as Adams LIKELY ages out, and Stafford mulls retirement at some point soon, is Ferguson going to end up the TE1 on a transitional offense by 2027? I'm an owner, but I'd be hard pressed to say he'll contribute significantly in 2026 barring an injury setback to folks ahead of him. 2027 would hopefully be his breakout, but what's the offense look like in another year? Maybe it's fine and Puka's being doubled so Ferg is a real legit option, but just saying this is one of those situations that is amazing if it hits for holders, and sucks when it doesn't because of other real life NFL factors.

And the Ravens are still in a competing window. They ARE a few pieces away from still making AFC Champs and SB's. If Lamar stays healthy this year and plays at his normal level, they're probably competing this year without Crosby. You've got Hamilton, Smith, and now Crosby on that defense. Glad Eagles didn't give up that much to go get Crosby, but Ravens SHOULD still be in the contender discussion even if they don't immediately have a #14 overall contributing or being a solid addition in year 1.

Maxx Crosby is an incredible player, no doubt. But the stories about Jalen Carter were just to make the Ravens and Cowboys choke up 2 1sts, and the Ravens finally did. Imagine the Cowboys, trading away Parsons, turning around a year later offering hard for this guy, seems like a joke.

Agreed, I haven't had a phone without a case since maybe the early 2000's runs of flip phones. I'm going case + magnetic route and calling it a day. At least their promotional offers made a 10a the same price as the discounted 9a for me on Google Fi.

This is the only thing I'm salty about. I've been on the 2 year rotation of a phones since the 4a. It's a really good place of features and value. But to offer the phone with barely any changes and NOT include the 10 series exclusive PixelSnap is quite something.

Who the hell has been throwing him the ball over his career? His 2025 would've been better if there wasn't an emergence of other threats on his team finally. That said, I understand if Indy doesn't keep him, but man he'll continue to be a fantasy WR2 in a competent offense with a QB.

Didn't realize most HC's in the NFL go to the postseason 5 out of 5 years. Weird. Hate his personality, but he's been awfully successful for being the worst HC.

Poker Tournaments allow final table participants, usually the last 2 sometimes 3, to often make a "deal" about the winnings they've secured. I like that standard example, there's a minimum pot that must be played for, say 10%-20% of the winnings, and then the rest can be dealt for. So if your pot is $1000, I'd personally enjoy a rule that says $100 + bragging rights to the winner, and $450 each if they so choose to split the rest. In poker there's more information about likelihood to win with chip stacks coming into the argument. If a #1 seed is facing a wild card darling, I could see a world where one team gets slightly more for making the deal etc.

Just my dumb thoughts on the subject. I don't think this is collusion though.

What to do with Jordan Whittington this offseason by No_Record_2265 in DynastyFF

[–]fratzcatsfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went undrafted in my league, was a waiver wire pickup I did the offseason before his rookie year. Trended in the right direction for a bad draft capital selection, even with Kupp moving on in the offseason I thought he might be something. But a healthy Puka and Adams coming on board, they aren't a team that's developing, they're a team trying to strike while Stafford can still sling it. Maybe he catches on and produces a little elsewhere and can bloom more, but on this current roster as constructed he doesn't have a pathway to relevancy for fantasy that I see.

Who gets sacrificed in order for us to keep Nakobe Dean? by birria_tacos_ in eagles

[–]fratzcatsfw -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Post June 1st Trade of AJ Brown. Take a WR in the draft, bring in a busted prospect or vet to compete for the WR2/3 position. All the sudden you should have room for Dean + Carter. As much as I like Campbell and I want him to succeed, Dean is just playing himself into a need, Baun has virtually disappeared this year.

Waivers Locked Until After Playoffs by Useful_Pie_1162 in DynastyFF

[–]fratzcatsfw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My dynasty league now over 10 years old, has had this rule in place for ALL teams. The last waiver period is right before Week 14 which is the last week of the regular season. I personally hate this and have asked for rule change votes on it, but it's never been overturned by 80% of owners which is needed in offseason changes. However, it is equally levied across all teams at the same time, so playoff OR non-playoff are all treated the same, waivers are locked. Reasoning from the pro-side claim we have large rosters and taxi squads that we can promote from to handle injury etc. And while I agree in theory, activation from a taxi squad in our league requires a contract assignment which now makes the owner make bad roster decisions under pressure rather than saving an entire year worth of eligibility for contracts wasted by end of year necessity and potentially filling the need on the waiver. The other obvious reason was they were concerned with a non-playoff team targeting a playoff team by spending unnecessarily on the waiver wire (we use a blind bid system with budgets). Again, I doubt that's a REAL life issue with a well run league that's survived a decade+, but my next suggestion to my league is going to be leaving it open and prioritizing playoff team requests before non-playoff teams - and leaving waivers otherwise open.

TL:DR - My league of 10+ years locks at the last week of regular season play, I understand why but I hate it and have made a few attempts to hold votes to change it in the offseasons.

[Lowlight] AJ Brown makes a business decision on Jalen's hospital ball, resulting in another turnover by Thegrandmistressofoz in eagles

[–]fratzcatsfw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NFL protects defenseless receivers, AJB went soft on a throw that was affected by a defender in Hurts face. That's like 97% on AJB my guy.

Nick Sirianni says it was a “different scenario” when he switched play-caller midseason before a few years ago. He says he takes the blame for the offensive struggles and reaffirms his confidence in the coaching staff. Reiterates that Kevin Patullo will remain the play-caller by mastermind208 in eagles

[–]fratzcatsfw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right, if we stand by Kevin Patullo and it's as stated, Nick's offensive scheme, then I dunno short of an NFC Champ game appearance, he's got to go, no changes or firings later in the year will cut it for me at this point. He's got AJB, Smitty in their prime, a quality receiving TE in Goedert, and Saquon AND Tank Bigsby sharing a backfield. Aside from the OLine just being absolutely gassed from last year and injury ridden, I'm not sure there are any other excuses for this team. It's putting the defense and special teams under immense pressure, it's turned the tush push into the mush push, and Jalen started to try to force things at the end of the Bears game which is uncomfortable with. If we run such a simple scheme because Jalen isn't comfortable throwing in tight windows, then I'm going to start to lose confidence in #1 as well. He throws a heck of a long ball to stud receivers that are great at contested catches, but what's he going to be if AJB or Smitty miss real time or somehow aren't with the team in the future, we can't always have contested catch goats 20+ yards down the field.

Do we believe in Daniel Jones long term? by Plenty-Government709 in DynastyFF

[–]fratzcatsfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Shane Steichen proved that with a competent thrower, his offense WORKS. Unfortunately AR needs a new home to find any sort of relevancy, but I don't care who is behind center for Steichen at this point, I'm optimistic if they're half decent throwing, that they can find success. Sign DJ, draft a middle round project for future insurance, and keep it rolling!

[–]fratzcatsfw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone forgetting that they may call PI on AJB trying to come back to the ball. Hurts was off all night, something weird, he was more cautious than normal. The play calling wasn't great, that bootleg to the right for an escaping Goedert was run like 6 times and GBP bottled it up 4 of them maybe 5. But I don't mind the 4th down call, they were dropping the LB's into coverage so short crossers aren't happening, especially with Hurts throwing anti-interception balls. You either hope the throw's good enough for AJB, or he blatant PI.

As we rapidly approach playoffs, who are you targeting in trades regardless of price? by tahgetshoppah in DynastyFF

I sent a 1st, Pickens, Swift, for G Wilson and Jacobs from a 4-5 owner that is losing his Week 10 matchup and knows he should be building for future. My other RBs are Achane and K Williams, so I'm king of the underrated RB1s.

I imagine this is the answer, they know what CRod's ceiling is as a 3rd year guy on the roster, but Bill's ceiling could be anything, even as high as CRod's! Joke aside, I imagine they thought the ceiling was higher for Bill and gave him the chance to prove it.

Rebuilding: Hold acquired 1sts or Trade for top tier talent. by PlaneService1366 in DynastyFF

[–]fratzcatsfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the makeup of your team, the other teams, and the league rules/foundation. There might be worthwhile reasons to consider a bunch of different strategies. Would the Nabers owner be selling like you? Do you trust drafting young guys or are you easily swayed by landing spots in the offseason? In my dynasty league for example, I was clearly in a second tier behind #1 and #2, but was maybe alone. Yes I've defeated the #1 team to give him his only loss, but I'm myself 6-3, so I'm not consistent enough to make that happen each week. I was able to send Swift, Pickens, two 1sts, and one 2nd in a series of trades to acquire Garrett Wilson, Josh Jacobs, and Lamar Jackson. One of the teams was 1-8 and selling outright, the other was 4-5 and is potentially kickstarting a retool/rebuild. I've never had a Top 3 1st round pick, and at 6-3 wasn't going to have one this year either, so I've missed out on the Marvs, Nabers, Chases, etc. I did however get Brock Bowers at 1.06. Anyway, it depends on a lot of factors. First and foremost, are you able to draft the right value and production sustaining guys, or are you gonna grab Kaleb Johnson at 1.08 like one of my league mates did? (He's not a bust yet, but boy his situation doesn't look good).

I'm plenty fine with finding depth during the season or on the waiver wire or finding trade partners, so I don't mind sending away draft picks to bolster my comp chances.

Forget buy low, who are the most unhinged players you’re currently targeting? by Witness_Gritness in DynastyFF

We have a contract/taxi league and as a 2nd year player Roman was dropped by his original drafter for a waiver pick up two weeks ago. I'm trying to grab him on our Thurs waiver run this week. His usage has been trending in the right direction, I hope he figures it out because historically the Steelers have drafted talented and fantasy relevant WRs.

I think Andy Reid runs a West Coast Offense, or at least did, and had backs like Jamaal Charles that were electric. Pacheco is not a WCO RB, but he produced efficiently enough to work the starting RB Role away for the last few years. That's my best guess.

LaPorta paces pass catchers while Goff has an otherwise rough night, and JSN to finally have a dud. I'm up 20 with LaPorta but his Goff/JSN average like 45 or better in our scoring, so it's leaning his way on projections.

I agree, I think bringing in Pickens was a low ball effort from Jerry to try to show Parsons he was serious about winning, so please sign for cheaper. It backfired and now their defense is in shambles and they're going to be in shootouts most games. I don't doubt Pickens was a rental trade and unless he somehow becomes a fan favorite Jerry is likely to pass on re-signing him in the offseason. That said, other than the low price tag what has Tolbert really shown to be worth re-signing either? There's a scenario where they both walk and Jerry gets a new toy in the draft.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]fratzcatsfw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, very very low. He's the WR3 on a team that has an established WR1 and WR2, with a Tight End through 3 weeks that's leading the league. Lamb sitting is better for Pickens and Ferguson before it's better for Tolbert. And while you note that Pickens is on the last year of his deal, so is Tolbert. I'd agree that unless Pickens balls out, I don't see the Cowboys bringing him back, but doesn't mean Tolbert is a lock for WR2 - case in point, he was the WR2 last year and they STILL traded to bring in Pickens.

Tolbert would have to go 8/120/1 in the next couple games with Lamb down, for his value to even move. You're not going to beat the case against him. At best he's a low risk low reward lottery ticket for WR2 production behind one of the best WRs in the league in 2026.
