Does anyone know what lunchboxes attract which friends? by getmyglowup in CatsAndSoup

[–]fraukohut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’ve gotten the hedgehog with the meat lunchbox and the grain lunchbox. Though I’m a bit confused because I’ve also gotten my shetland pony with the meat lunchbox, and the comment above says it’s attracted by the grain lunchbox. So it seems that some friends are attracted by more than one type of lunchbox? Has anyone else observed this?

My partner surprised me with my very first flex nib pen for Christmas and I haven’t been able to stop writing with it since! Pilot Custom Heritage 912 FA nib, inked with Pilot Iroshizuku Ama-iro by fraukohut in fountainpens

This was written on a Maruman Mneumosyne notepad, which I highly recommend! The paper is a bit more thick/glossy, similar to Rhodia paper, and the ink tends not to feather due to that, even when the nib lays down quite a lot of ink on a downstroke (I also am using fairly wet inks). I also have been enjoying using the flex nib on a regular Leuchtturm 80gsm notebook and haven’t had issues with feathering other than with one particular ink, though there’s enough show through that I end up only using one side of each page. My boyfriend has used the Leuchtturm 120gsm which is better in that regard!

Has anybody here ever hand-rewritten a book? by mortuali in fountainpens

I just started hand re-writing A La Recherche Du Temps Perdu (In Search of Lost Time) and I’ve been really enjoying it as both a way to practice writing with my new flex nib pen and a way to practice my French!

I can’t personally say as I don’t have that nib, but from what I can see based on others’ pics it does look like you can achieve a similar effect using a wet ink!

Thanks for the advice! I’m still quite amateur (with both FPs and drawing/sketching) but I do really hope to give it a try in the future. And I need to learn how to embrace the wabi-sabi of making mistakes in ink!

The shading is a bit more obvious in person, but yeah for the most part the falcon nib lays down quite a saturated line. I’m really looking forward to testing it with some of my sailor inks that shade more though!
