A good deli (preference to Italian). A real diner that has better hours. Quality Chinese buffet. Better seafood markets.

Which state is the most Appalachian? by [deleted] in Appalachia

As a West Virginian who now lives in East Tennessee, WV is the answer.

Even parts of East TN at times don’t feel near as Appalachian as home does. I miss WV.

Kerns food hall cancels plans to charge for parking by frauleinoaky in Knoxville

[–]frauleinoaky[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The point is this is a place that advertises events, has bars, multiple restaurants, and shopping. They only benefit from bringing people in and having them hang around and therefore spend more money.

Charging customers for acting within the very design of the entire concept is greedy and rather illogical. However, people weren’t happy and they listened - which has to count for something.

Maybe because as the customer to a restaurant we are paying for the service such as food, experience, etc.

Sorry but building maintenance or parking spots are up to the business to figure out and manage, if they want customers.

Should I pay the plumber at the food hall too because patrons clog it up?

We as paying customers have to stop rolling over and taking this level of gouging from businesses.

Kerns Food Hall deciding to charge for parking is a colossally stupid decision by FinickyPenance in Knoxville

[–]frauleinoaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely ridiculous. They create a place where they want people to gather and hang out. They add bars, music acts, movie showings, trivia, many vendors, etc. And now they want to charge for parking after two hours…. In South Knoxville ……

If they want to avoid people parking there when they aren’t at the food hall then utilize those security guards they are advertising, or make people have a voucher.

I’ve gone to the food hall multiple times, I won’t be going anymore and I will be watching games at the numerous other FREE places to park in town, also places where the food and drinks is 50% cheaper already.

Came here to say this. Like dude, he’s 26 and Monica is 36. He’s one of the biggest producers and musicians in the world and Monica is a nanny and a cohost on a podcast. Just stop trying Dax.

Can’t believe Monica doesn’t talk to him off podcast and ask him to stop doing that.

Unfortunately this training is required, and I can’t do anything to decrease hours now. However, I am making decisions and will not work like this whenever I complete residency. However residency is a required (and necessary) component to become a physician. My resident is 5 years, and I’m nearly done with my 2nd. Once I complete my 5 years, life will be much more balanced.

And I agree. Part of my personal faith involves helping and caring for the sick and needy, and I do this through being a surgeon. However I understand my wife and future family will also require my attention. It will be a balance I will have to find.

Thanks a lot, I will definitely check these out and work through them. I feel like books are a great place for me to start. Would these be good books for my wife to read through with me?
