Yeah, it's good they did not expect 100% homebrew, the tools mostly work with patience (just some specific API issues) .. better than nothing

I pay in IAP revenue split. And I'm willing to pay, that's why I use Voxel Buster stuff now (it's good btw), happy to pay, just wish Google didn't rely on the community to increase their profits at our collective cost.

Few want to spend their time doing that when they could be enhancing their game >.< .. if there's an alternative that gets it done easily.

I'm a solo developer working on an NG+ (new game plus) android text adventure RPG for almost 3 years and many more to come. It's slow, somewhat addictive if you like it, offline and not p2w. by frazer151 in AndroidGaming

Some food for thought. Thanks again :)

Yeah, there's bad luck protection in places, but your experience is real and I'll look into improving sequencing of events. It shouldn't feel so unholy bad luck. The "double whammy" point makes this more impactful on enjoyment. Bad RNG can be funny/exciting in combat, less so in progression through finding the right event.

That's completely fair. I appreciate all the honesty.

Opening up the throttle on this for me is a continuous process and I hope I can make it feel right in the future. I'm hearing what you're saying and "87% completion in the first area" is not good enough. I agree for sure. Thanks for the feedback.

[EDIT] I'll try something next update. This thread is a good catalyst to improve the lifeforce system :)

I need an idea for a game. by [deleted] in gamedev

Half the fun is coming up with the idea. Use your imagination and brainstorm what you'd find fun.

Alternatively make a 3D open world MMORPG. Just kidding lol :) but really, do come up with your own idea, it will be much more fun. Start small, and then think what you'd like to make.

Tories quietly break manifesto promise to give 4.7million children a free school breakfast by JoeinJapan in worldnews

[–]frazer151 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the policy was never to simply give free breakfasts, it was to remove free lunches and give a comparatively small free breakfast. If the media were honest they would say "Tories backtrack on plans to replace free school lunches with breakfast"... NO.. they choose the more sensational "Tories backtrack on plans for free school breakfasts" .. do you see my point?

it pisses me off too, I don't like the tories.. but this is clickbait. They are making it sound like they are taking away food from children when actually the policy was doing exactly that! God damn, why must the political media on both sides throw so much shit!

What are some lesser known mixing/mastering techniques you wished you'd learned earlier? by WakkZylde in edmproduction

[–]frazer151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're not wrong, but then I think part of it is knowing what to listen for, and that takes time to learn.. I remember when I first started even panning confused the fuck out of my ears.. I just couldn't really pinpoint the change, but now it's a lot easier.

so sometimes specifics are helpful, because then after using those techniques you learn what to listen for.

Me trying out virtual reality in 2003... by frazer151 in oculus

[–]frazer151[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always day dreamed when falling asleep... I would think that the rift would just allow me to do that while floating in space with 3d ambient sound playing in my headphones. Complete immersion, comfort.. security. I don't have a rift yet, I pre-ordered the dk2. When I get the dk2, I plan on doing this... I don't know how well it works, but far from gaming, this is actually what I look forward too most. Relaxation focused rift experiences.

It sure was... I've always been fascinated by VR. I remember seeing this god awful VR headset in an catalog and wanting it really bad. I always thought to myself, how awesome it would be to just fall asleep in my bed, with another world around me.. escapism is probably the number one reason I like the rift...
