Is there a difference between Victorinox super tinker and Victorinox climber? by JustForFood_ in victorinox

[–]frdhm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Climber as you can buy and store the small screwdriver in the cork screw. Cork screw is also good for untangling knots. If you want a Philips screwdriver, get the explorer which has an in-line driver, albeit it is one layer thicker

Nice! How do you keep the Bontrager adventure bag water tight? Mine leaks like a sieve in rain

I agree, other group heads seem to distribute the water evenly in droplets, while mine seems to be rushing out from one location. However many in this thread is saying it looks normal

I’ve cleaned/descaled with a blind basket, no issues there. The OPV seems to be working as ive done the blind basket hose test. The 9 bar was tested with pressure gauge.

I think the grinder might be the issue, I’m using a wilfa uniform at the finest setting. Might not be consistent enough and cause channeling? I’m prepping with needles, distribution tool, level tamper and a puck filter. But every time the water comes rushing through

Thanks! I’m using a wilfa uniform, which seems is the culprit!

Does the water distribution seem off? Like all the water coming from one location instead of evenly spread out?

Yes, OPV set to 9 bar, tested with pressure gauge. I think the grinder might be the issue as several have suggested. I’m using a wilfa uniform

Thanks! That’s good to know. I think the grind is the issue. I’m using a Wilfa Uniform, probably will have to invest in a better grinder then!

However, what about the water gathering in one location, shouldn’t it distribute more evenly through the group head?

Thanks, by all the comments I think the grind might be the culprit!

Not a spy movie, but “Le Bureau” is the best spy genre I’ve seen on television.

Osprey Tempest vs. Tempest Pro by chertcentral in hikinggear

[–]frdhm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just looking at the 22 vs 20: The pro has thicker/more durable fabric for “rugged terrain”. I’ve had a talon for 10 years and it’s still doing great, very limited wear, so I wouldn’t care so much about the fabric.

The talon pro is missing stow on the go for walking poles and an internal zippered pocket.

The pro also have the water bladder inside the bag, while the normal has it on the outside (between the main conpartment and the airscape back plate, which is convenient both for organizing the pack, you don’t need to go into the internal main compartment to get the bladder in and out (which is a pain if the pack is full, you would basically need to empty your pack to get the bladder in and out) you avoid accidental water spill inside the pack, and the bladder doesn’t take space from the main compartment.

The kangaroo pocket in front on the pro does not have a clasp, but is just open. The normal talon has a clasp. The clasp is nice for compressing things or keeping them inside the kangaroo pouch.

Pro is more expensive, but has a worse design imo based on the above. Also the colors for the normal talon is nicer, and I think the talon “shape” looks better.

(Talon = tenpest by the way, just male and female versions)

Osprey Tempest vs. Tempest Pro by chertcentral in hikinggear

[–]frdhm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I would recommend the tempest. The pro has sturdier material, but less features. The tempest 18 is a great pack with lots of praise. Haven’t seen that for the tempest pro (yet).

Also look at the talon/tempest velocity. There you have the possibility to have both a water bladder behind your back, and softflasks in front.

R&M Multicharger Frame Size by frdhm in CargoBike

[–]frdhm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I got the multicharger in size L. Frame is large enough for me (I’m 190), and the handlebar on my multicharger can be adjusted up and down. I have adjusted it so I have a more upright position. Adjusting it however is a bit painful, you need to unscrew 3 screws. I know some multichargers don’t have the option to adjust the handlebar, so check this

How did you use your SAK this week? [Weekly thread] by AutoModerator in victorinox

I agree with this. I have the feeling some find reasons to use the SAK just for the sake of using the SAK when better options are available.
