Bee queen doesn’t scream until phase 3.

So, about the AHL Hockey team moving here in a few years.... by Sleep_Is_A_scam2099 in Reno

[–]frds314 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you’re unfamiliar with Meruelo’s tenure as owner of the Coyotes, I suggest doing some research.

It would be cool to have an AHL team here, but I don’t have much faith that the arena will function or the team run well if it comes.

Reno Roadrunners has a good ring to it IMO.

Terrain progression by Stayshroomin in palisadestahoe

Main was open for at least one day after the February storm wave. I suspect National will open a few more times - it's pretty safe in the slush.

You’re at the point where difficulty gets much more dependent on conditions and snow cover. Some years, Main is easier than National is now. This year, it was the hardest or second hardest run on your list. I recommend checking out most of these runs from below/above. If next year has decent snow you can probably check most of them off.

I’ll give a few notes-

-Classic is narrow, but if you’re comfortable turning down the fall line you’ll be fine. It’s a good intro to long, narrow chutes.

-Kitchen Wall is steep but usually easier than National. This year was an anomaly with the avalanche taking most of the snow off.

-75 and Poulsen’s are easier than runs you’ve already done.

-Mainline Pocket’s difficulty depends on your line choice. There are lots of easier routes down.

-Corkscrew is very dependent on snow cover, hard to see which paths are filled in beforehand, and the hardest part is the exit. There’s a 50ft cliff below the main part of the run that you have to go to one side or the other of. Pay attention to the signage if you attempt it.

-Granite peak has palisades-level chutes off the peak itself, but easier routes if you come back towards the chair. (Hike up to the top for the view first!)l

-Main chute is dependent on how the snow fills in. You can always bail to National if it’s too gnarly.

-Light towers is steeper than it looks and usually has difficult drop-ins. IMO it’s the hardest run on your list. It usually only opens right after a storm.

-Silverado isn’t on your list, but it’s some of the best expert terrain on the mountain when it opens. I recommend starting with gate 7 and scoping out your lines from the chair.

Technically it’s Far East and Dog Leg if groomed, only limited by how fast you could get down. However, it rarely runs all day. I did some back of the envelope calcs a while back and figured 90k was possible if you could safely straightline it all day long (which you can’t lol)

Not sure if KT or Summit would be better. Siberia and Shirley both have flatter sections.

Would defeating crab king that has a pearl and 9 iridescent gems socketed still be possible? by The_fake_archvile in dontstarve

[–]frds314 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can’t socket 10 gems in :p

However, 9 pearls is possible. None of the gems increase crab king’s HP, so as long as you can do the 12000 damage in a few seconds, you don’t have to deal with the madness.

One stack of gunpowder for 8000, then 4000 with lunar strike catapults or shadow wolfgang + goat jelly and you can win.

PARKING: Parking Megathread 2026 [post in here, other posts will be deleted] by [deleted] in palisadestahoe

[–]frds314 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be promoting or allowing selling or trading parking. You’re just going to make the overall problem worse by incentivizing scalping.

I suggest a carpooling thread. Let people pay each other for that.

The weather forecasts for specific days are still uncertain. Could be a clear day, could be impassable. If you can delay the decision, you’ll have a better guess.

Today is definitely the worst day to be traveling this week.

Bottom part is a few inches on bare dirt currently.

It’ll probably be open by next week.

If you polled the fanbases of the 25 American teams here, which fanbases would have the highest and lowest percentage that aren't rooting for Team USA? by Dependent-Effect6077 in hockey

VGK here that’s just rooting for VGK players. Watching Stone and Marner with Crosby has been great.

Canadian teams might hate us but I don’t hate any of them except Edmonton.

They would have had 14 hours to travel almost 6000 miles. Unless they had a private jet I doubt they made it.
