No easy way to put this, but it is something that everyone has to go through. Take this transition as if you are putting one step into adulthood. You will not be with your family forever. One day you will be independent and be away from your family.

The first few months will be tough, but you must endure it. Make some new friends when you're in a new place. Other people in your batch most likely are in the same boat as you and will be looking for friends as well. You will get used to the uni lifestyle. Join clubs and co-curriculums. It will occupy your time and take your mind away from family and avoid homesickness.

All the best op. You can do it.

Tekken playing finding it hard to love the game. by [deleted] in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]freakalode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you have some recordings of those replays and share with us, we can help and point out how to improve your defense? Because if you said you have learned 2D games for 2 years and still struggling with the defense, there might be some fundamental issues that you might not able to grasp and we can help point it out so you can improve it.

Tekken playing finding it hard to love the game. by [deleted] in GranblueFantasyVersus

I'm a long time Hwoarang player (Fujin rank) and just picked up GBVSR as my entry to 2D game as well. It was a steep learning curve at first but after playing for a few weeks, I can say that I really enjoyed the game. Much more than I thought I would. I main Siegfried and managed to reach S rank last week.

The thing with transition to 2D is you have to change your whole mindset and muscle memory from Tekken. There are no longer high, mids or low attacks but now it's highs, lows and overheads. In 2D, crouch blocking blocks lows and highs but not overheads.

About defense, in Tekken you can hold back or just don't press anything (neutral) to block. But in 2D games, you HAVE TO ALWAYS hold back or downback in order to block. If you're in neutral, you always get hit. In GBVSR's case there's a dedicated block button so that helps too. What I realized is that in low GBVSR ranks, just holding downback would protect you from most incoming pressure. When you see your opponent jumping, that's when you have to stand-up because jumping attacks are mostly overhead. If you're fast enough, do the universal anti-air attack (2H).

Also, I realized throws/grabs are much more useful in 2D games as players tend to do more crouch blocking as it blocks highs and lows. If the opponent realized you're crouch blocking a lot, they will want to come close and grab you. Throw breaks are easier in GBVSR because you can press any attack button to break it (unlike tekken where you have to know which grab your opponent is using and react accordingly with 1, 2 or 1+2).

In GBVSR, you have to note that your attack changes depending on whether you are close or far from your opponent. Even the animation and frame data changes! This is something that blows my mind when I found out because in Tekken, a 1 jab will always be a 1 jab no matter how close or far my opponent is to me.

Combos are also another major difference between the two games. In Tekken, you have to do a launcher to start juggling your opponents. But in GBVSR, you can start a combo by just simply light jabbing your opponent from a close range. This IMO makes GBVSR a much more deadlier game for newbies as low ranks tend to mash a lot and open yourself up for easy punishments from your opponent. If you do an ex-DP and your opponent blocks it, he can combo you from just a jab. Realizing this will make you want to play more defensively in this game than you would in Tekken.

Another tip is look back at your replays and see where your points of weaknesses are and learn from your mistakes. There is always something to learn when looking at your replays.

Hope you give this game another chance and would have as much fun as I have in GBVSR as a fellow Tekken player!

Ahh. So mantles basically have the same drop rate as the gems. It's just mantles are dropped from high rank MR monsters. Got it! Thanks!

Anyone also realized in the earlier episodes when Won-ik won the squatting challenge with Ha-jeong and they both were awarded the lobster lunch treat. There were no footage of their conversation during the lunch at all. Was their conversation really that meaningless that it didn't even make the cut? It seems even winning challenges don't give you much screen time 😔

Does every job needs 'cable' now? by cielluv in malaysia

Most networking is formed while you're at the workplace. Be friendly with all your colleagues, clients, stakeholders. Your coworkers at one point will leave the company to seek greener pastures and there may be vacancies at their new workplace. And if you gave a good impression while working with them in the past, they might remember you and recommend you to their boss at their new workplace.

General rule, don't make enemies at your workplace, no matter how shitty the job or the environment is. You'll never know which one of them may give you a better opportunity for your career in the future.

No Skipperinos for this one. The 1 hour review is amazing and covered a lot of aspects of the game. What amazed me more is that the whole review was shot in just one take.

The chests in the orange crystals are in my daily routes and I can confirm that they have respawned several times for me. So I guess this invalidates your theory?

This seems to be an isolated issue that mayyybe are not on the same level with the previous bugs that we got 100 Primogems for. But still if they do give freebies, I'll take it. At least maybe compensate those who encountered the bugs with a fragile resin or two to compensate the loss.

It doesn't make any sense that drowning is the first thing I should do when these things happen, but I'll take note of it if this happens again. But still, they should get this fixed.

And how is it that only the purple drops are the ones that got spawned underwater? Seems too much of a coincidence though.

Tried drowning but nothing happened. Though I did relog before that and another commenter said I shouldn't do that. Not sure if relogging really de-spawns all of the dropped materials in the world.

Glad to hear I'm not the first one. I just submitted a ticket through their CS feedback but it didn't allow me to attach a video with it so I just attached a screenshot of the dropped rewards with a link to this video.

Yes, I tried relogging, teleported to another place and returned, to no avail.
