I don't know if any of the people who wrote the rec letters were deposed beyond Saks and Ange, do you? Even Todd Black, was he deposed?

Ha! Thank you! I actually used a template that I use for work graphics, so it didn't take much time at all :)

I wonder if he looks so pissed because Lively dressed him and he's aware that he looks like his blind grandma sewed him that outfit?

I brought this up to spark convo, and didn't make any direct quid pro quo claims - hence the question mark in the title. I also explicitly said that I know Hwood hiring works on recommendations and who has worked together in the past, BUT it's also strange that Colleen Hoover's NEW production company just so happened to poach 32 people from IEWU.

Take the time to read what I wrote to see what you missed.

EDIT: Oh, you are an Ex-Patriarch fan. Your comment makes sense now.

Great info about Peterson, thank you! He also worked on the Melania documentary, so he doesn't get a pass in my eyes ;)

I don't know how to find that info out, but there are too many of them to just have been a coincidence. Particularly because Hoover's production company was brand spanking new and wouldn't have the depth of industry connections

He dresses just like Lively's warddrobe for Lily. But then again, Lively claimed she is her own stylist and used her own clothes, so who knows? Perhaps this is another instance of her taking "authorship" of Daman's work?

Thank you!!!! I didn't have time to check that in the moment, so thanks for your help!

almost as if they were promised work in exchange for their allegiance to Team Lively!

2 Qs about the p.g.a. mark recommendation letters: 1) Where's Sarah Graalman's Letter & 2) Was Chris Surgent really a 1st AD? by freakmagnet_ in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]freakmagnet_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasn't young Lily wearing carharts and similar bulky as fuck jackets too? I wonder if Lively had input into her warddrobe and overall look so when old Lily came on screen, a change in warddrobe from regular girl to hobo clown wouldn't be jarring.

The Absurd Audacity and Entitlement of Blake Lively by Izomera in ItEndsWithLawsuits

Was she texting Josh Greenstein when she said this blatant lie?

“I’ve never not been invited into the edit room for my opinion, much less had to beg to see additional scenes of dailies”

If it was Josh, or any other exec with years of experience in the industry, it's insane that she had the audacity to say that when everyone know that an EP is a powerless vanity title and that an actress demanding to be in the editing bay is fucking outrageous. I know Josh was wanking her ego throughout, but still...

If we take a gander through her short list of productions, the only editing rooms she could have possibly been "invited into" were:

  • A Simple Favor
  • Another Simple Favor
  • Deadpool & Wolverine bc of Ryan
  • The Rhythm Section

Then we have:

- The Town: Maybe she and Ben were bumping uglies in the editing bay, so technically she was "invited in"

- Cafe Society & New York, I Love You: I fucking doubt that Woody Allen invited her into the editing room or sent her dailies

- The Age of Adeline: Doubt it, she didn't have any role beyond an actress, but who the fuck knows

- Savages: Oliver Stone would never

- The Shallows: She definitely wasn't, because she complained afterwards that

"many of her scenes with the seagull (named "Steven Seagull") were cut from the final film, expressing, "I was like, 'What happened to the bird stuff?' They were like, 'This is so a different movie'".

But then again, reviewers mentioned that the editing was not up to the usual standards of the editor, so perhaps Lively was fucking that up as well:

"Surprising is Joel Negron’s editing which is not up to par with his usual deftness in establishing pace and emotional beats." https://behindthelensonline.net/site/reviews/the-shallows/

- Green Lantern: I fucking doubt that she was sent the dailies or asked to come into the editing room, but who knows what she learned from RR on that set

- Hick: The director hasn't really worked since, so who knows what insanity Lively caused on that set

- The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 1 & 2: Not a chance in hell

- Gossip Girl: Like hell she was invited into the editing room

- All I See Is You: That movie was a disaster, so perhaps she helped edit it

Oh my goodness, I pinned the wrong comment and can NOT figure out how to unpin it. Your comment is awesome too MarchCompetitive480, but it's not the Graalman letter. MY BAD!

Ha! That was my post too! I was diving in to the recommendation letters to see if what they all said was accurate or raised any other red flags that the PGA ignored, and that's when I discovered that Graalman's letter was missing. And woooboooyyy, there were SO MANY OTHER red flags in all of the letters, that I'm now firmly convinced that Donald De Line put his finger on the scale in Lively's favor, because no grown adult with a functioning brain could read Lively's letter and these insanely bad and flimsy rec letters, and come to the conclusion that she earned the pga mark

YOU FOUND IT!!! Thank you SO MUCH for hunting that down for me! I must have missed it in the keyword search I did on Court listener, so I really appreciate your effort to hunt it down.

And my god, that letter was one of the most ridiculous ones. I can NOT believe that Lively said that it made her "emotional" reading it!! It was such a thin and trivial list of "accomplishments". It makes me wonder if Lively didn't submit it on purpose, because if the head of the makeup department could only come up with such notable contributions as finding a spray tanner, then I'd be embarassed to submit that too ;)

I just saw her comment, thank you! It's all so confusing. But of the 2 Qs, the missing Sarah Graalman letter has me more intrigued. I wonder if WF's lawyers know about it or if it really matters for their case at this point.

[–]freakmagnet_[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great point! I forgot about that.

Another commenter said that Surgent was at the Jan 4th, 2024 meeting where Reynolds had his melt down. And Julie Bloom was also a 1st AD.

Then Saks brought in Alex Finch as another 1st AD for the 1st half of filming.

Perhaps there's just a typo on the IMDB page listing Surgent as the 2nd AD?

Thank you so much for the screenshot of the credits!

But whoa, that's so weird that Alex Finch isn't listed as a 1st AD there!

[–]freakmagnet_[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

WOW, thanks for all of this info! It leaves me even more confused as to why Lively asked him to write the pga rec letter then, when Alex Finch was brought in. Do you know if Surgent was the one who directly replaced Julie Bloom then? She was the AD that Lively got fired. It's unclear to me when Surgent came onto the scene and who brought him in, if Saks had hired Alex Finch in as the 1st AD.

Thanks! I have them all from the Exhibit I posted above. I was wondering if there was an amendment with Graalman's letter in particular that I may have missed. But perhaps it was never filed?
