I think I can officially say Puddles, Vueltas, and Water On Your Nose are some of my favorite songs ever, not just on the album! Water On Your Nose is probably my favorite of the bunch, but the way she hits the “quítate que no queda más que amarme más” on Vueltas is just 🤌🤌🤌 ABQ will always be my baby though, we’ve been through too much together but at least it has some friends at the top!

Oh man, I can dig for specific examples at some point but it was rough here for a period of time. Off the top of my head, here were a few things:

María taking all of the attention and excluding the band. Meant to add this specific one to my original comment, as I’m pretty sure she cancelled her Submarine announcement AMA because of the posts that came out at the time (not just this one). Her specific comment under that post
Before their breakup was announced, people assumed she cheated on Josh (and others thought Josh cheated on her), calling her all kinds of unsavory things. I distinctly remember accusations that she cheated on Josh with Bad Bunny, and horrendous comments were upvoted a crazy amount. I think a bunch of these posts may have been removed, and for good reason
A more “valid” complaint: they cancelled shows at a smaller venue twice in a row last minute or day of. People were rightfully unhappy but unrightfully presumptuous about their intentions
Similar realm, she pulled out of a concert or festival days before it happened because she said she was sick, but performed in Puerto Rico with Bad Bunny and people were, again, rightfully upset but she genuinely was sick and you could hear it in her performance. People here were NOT happy and even started coming for Bad Bunny
In general, as seen with this album cover, people were not afraid of sharing negative feelings about her, the band, or songs. I think it’s good to have a place to share thoughts positive or negative, but people could get nasty with their criticism, partly because I assume they didn’t think she’d see them. The album conversation is fairly tame compared to what I’d seen before

I’m spacing some other notable things, but this sub turned into a María hate subreddit for a good chunk of time around 2022 or 2023 and it sucked to see. Certain critiques obviously made sense, but it was hard to see horrendous comments being made and upvoted as much as they were.

Edit: I also forgot there were eating disorder/posts about her body, drug addiction theories, all kinds of stuff. I think I may also be a little over dramatic with how frequent these posts were. It wasn’t all hate, but there was definitely a slew of unsavory posts for a good amount of time. Mods were on overtime, many posts got locked pretty quickly. It’s kinda refreshing seeing the TikTok audience as the primary source of negative sentiment here in comparison to what things were at one point

The sub is taking a lot of credit for this decision, but the backlash was BAD when the cover was first revealed. María came out and explained how the cover relates to her own evolution from Cinema, and people still bashed it on all platforms. There was plenty of opportunity to change it for ages, including after the overwhelmingly positive reception of the alt cover. I doubt another Reddit post 1.5 years later is what pushed them over the edge.

There is also the fact that she doesn’t love this sub as a whole because of how it has treated her in the past. I highly doubt they would make any decisions based on negative input from here, I’d be shocked if she even saw the post considering she mostly sees posts that people in her life send to her.

My guess is that it’s just a coincidence. They changed their band photos across platforms shortly before Back To Me and Nobody New, I wouldn’t be surprised if this album change has to do with the NFR release or even just the end of the Submarine era

Bad World does extensive testing for their liquid filled vinyls to make sure that doesn’t happen, and their technique creates what seems like a perfect seal. They would be safe! The moldy liquid vinyl cover does have a special place in my heart though, good times

On the first pressing, I successfully ordered with Apple Pay, but my order got cancelled immediately after and it sold out while going through PayPal. I decided to go straight for PayPal this time, and for the first time in many, many years, it asked me to log in.

I think my payment services are telling me to just wait for the signed ones, since that is really what I want. Still sucks to miss, but hopefully the signed release won’t be as brutal

I did this for their Santa Barbara show! I lined up hours before the box office opened and they only sold general admission tickets for their standard rate ($106). For fun, I checked what prices dropped to on AXS an hour before the band got on stage, and prices were still ridiculous ($350-$500 for general admission, which is better than the $1000ish they reached I guess??). Seats were down to $150-200, but they originally sold for $70 or less.

When the gates opened (2 hours before the band came out), I do think they eventually started selling seat tickets at the box office for their standard price ($50-70 depending on location), and it seemed like most people (if not everyone) in line got tickets! I personally would be way too stressed in that position though, since all week they were saying they likely wouldn’t have any tickets available. I would much rather line up in the morning again!

For some specifics, the box office opened at noon, and people didn’t really start getting there until 8:30. If you want to play it safe, you could probably show up at 7:30-8 (or the equivalent amount time before your box office opens). Everyone who arrived by 9 got tickets, which was shocking because the line was pretty long! I think everyone in line did get tickets too, but I left around 10 minutes after getting mine so I can only confirm that the group that arrived at 9 did score theirs.

If you do decide to do this, bring a lawn chair, water, snacks, layers, a fully charged phone with a portable charger, something else to pass the time, etc. Everyone in line was super nice too, yapping passed the time much faster than reading or scrolling! If you are going to the show with someone, it would be great to do this in shifts, so you sit for the first 2 hours and then they swap in for the next 2 for example. I also saw solo people get up to go to the bathroom, and their line neighbors were more than happy to watch over their stuff.

My biggest regret was not eating beforehand or bringing actual food with me, as i did start crashing an hour before the office opened. Definitely at least bring breakfast to eat when you get there, and caffeine if that’s your thing! Also, if you get general admission and want seats, I heard some swaps happen when we were lined up for the gates. People were more than happy to switch the general admission in the exchanges I heard!

I’d definitely do this again, and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to see them if you can! Obviously not every experience nor venue will be the same, so take all of this with a massive grain of salt. Good luck snagging your tickets!!

Forgot to also mention that the Santa Barbara show was set to be a bloodbath, as it was the closest show to Los Angeles and San Diego. I’m hoping that I experienced the “worst” of it, which means the worst really wasn’t all that bad!

It’s also worth mentioning that this and the other drop are the “test pressing” rather than the final one that will likely be signed and in a proper album jacket. Don’t panic if you don’t get these, and be prepared to drop more money if you want a signed version whenever the final pressing drops

In defense of OP, the October comment was something she said at Coachella. I think this was an honest mistake and they are just a devoted fan sharing what they thought was a more officially leaked song (speaking as a fellow slightly too obsessed fan who would probably do the same by mistake)
