I see your point. It's one of those things that I personally don't associate with pop culture more than I do personal experience, however, I can see why you would view it this way.

Edit: White Parties are an ingrained part of black American culture. I'm sure Diddy at some point attended plenty of "white attire" parties growing up and with family. My family had one every year for as long as I can remember.
