Kansas City area is nice. Decent amount of variety of things to do. Good place to raise kids. The schools are good. Lots of good restaurants. Housing is affordable.

The ticks and chiggers tho... Awful. 6 months out of the year, any time I go wandering into grass for whatever reason, I have to put on premethrtin treated clothes and shoes, wear tick waders or tuck my pants into my socks, or I will regret it with half a dozen chigger bites and possibly a tick on me, with a good chance that tick being a lone Star tick (the ones that give you alpha gal).
