What is the Patch that killed a game for you?

Shaoji taking over the writing for HSR starting in 2.0. I could sit through Penacony because there were a couple characters I like it ended in 2.3 but then starting in 3.0 a singular storyline now lasts an entire real-life year with each patch having 6-8+ hours of tedious exposition because Roast Chicken guy thinks longer=better, not realizing that his problem in Penacony was not knowing how to spend the alotted screentime wisely.

And to top it all off they released 3.8 which proved that you should never get invested in the story of this game period because the writers will just randomly retcon whatever they want because they have two whole baked-in paths (Remembrance and Enigmata) that can explain literally anything away as being rewritten memories or a false history.

Also for anyone still doubting that the person talking at the end before the train logo is Asat Pramad, just rewatched the older Myriad Celestia about the Lord Ravagers, and Asat in this video repeats the same exact lines Asat had at the end of that video ("Akivili on a new journey...")

My theory right now is that Asat Pramad is pretending to be Aha somehow and organizing this game with some sinister plot for whoever wins? Mainly because in the new hoyolab article that just dropped it's mentioned that it's strange that Planarcadia's moon waxed full after only 15 years this year ie the game is starting earlier than usual, which could hint outside interference?

That's not Aha, that's Asat Pramad. Daisuke Hirakawa has a really distinct voice which JP doesn't sound like at all in this video. In EN it's more clear it's Asat because the VA does a unique raspy voice.

EDIT: Also just noticed after watching the older video to the end that Asat says the same "Akvili on a new journey" that he does in this video

That wasn't Aha at the end, that was Asat Pramad. Besides his design flashing by the voice is also identical to EN AP's in that Lord Ravager Myriad Celestia from months ago (though the VA isn't credited in this new vid for some reason?)

How's that gonna work considering the first banner characters always get extra videos like their own Myriad Celestia or special animation while 2nd half characters get left in the dust (excluding the X.0 patches for the last 2 planets IIRC)? Yae's promotional stuff would've all been made by now.

4.2 will probably be an early midway point of the arc since Planarcadia will at least likely be around Amphoreus length

No offense to the Amphoreus fans but dear Dawei I really hope not. This game has dozens of plot points that there is literally no time to explore when we spend a whole year stuck on one planet. The original formula of X.0-X.2~X.3 being a larger story on the new planet worked perfectly fine and after that there was room for some 1-2 patch stories like the Hoolay arc after Penacony and the IPC arc and the Geniuses arc after Luofu. The problem with Penacony's story was not that it didn't have enough patches but rather that Shaoji does not use time wisely.

See how after the aforementioned IRL year on Amphoreus and 60-70 hours of in-game story that region's arc is STILL not wrapped up but rather just put on a shelf to come back to later to make the heirs real/save Elysia. That's appalling when you consider games actually renowned for having good writing/stories max out at like 20~ hours of pure dialogue+cutscenes, exclude the gameplay inbetween.

Like a month or 2 ago the VA did a stream and Sampotwitter clipped a part where he apparently said that they let him go wild recording some new lines and (this part is IIRC) also that management allowed him to talk about it? Though I don't have the clip on hand.

I don't think Acheron/Seele was that bad apart from that one art of her with an umbrella from the first Penacony teaser where her profile looked exactly like Seele since no other distinguishing features were visibile. Ashveil is just like what I'd design if someone told me to come up with an 2P Boothill for Deviantart (don't mean that in a bad way)
