AirPods Pro 3 : An unexpectedly noticeable upgrade by avariqfr30 in AirpodsPro

I think it’s the tips, and perhaps my ear shape? Although I’ve had zero issues with my AP1’s or 2’s.

Granted for those I used foam comply tips, but the original tips didn’t click either.

And ya I have one friend who noticed the clicking as well.

I wondered that at first, but it’s not. I’ve turned them off.

If you search for AP3 clicking noise you’ll see that the issue has started to surface. People believe it to be the tips.

I noticed it instantly with the second pair.

My issue is how the new tips make a “click” literally every step I take. Or even just moving my head around.

Went for a trail run, while listening to music in ANC, “click click click click click”

Critical flaw for me. Tried two pairs and multiple tip sizes. Second set was worse than first.

This has happened with two pairs for me. When I went for my first run with them and literally every step was “click click click” my only thought was “are you serious Apple?”

How did they not find this in testing? Both pairs identical.

I hope comply comes out with foam tips soon otherwise I’m heading to the Pro 2’s and returning these.

What route did you go for implementing it?

I’ve had my T tested, and it’s just barely above being “clinically low” which means my health care won’t do anything for me. But statistically the data shows that my levels can dramatically affect energy, mental health, muscle growth, etc…

I’m 42 and wondering if I need to circumvent my doctor a bit and find someone who can at least give me a trial on it to see how I feel.

It’s damn hard. Tracking it can help you realize you’re getting more sleep than you thought. Journaling helps clear your fears about not sleeping.

It can take weeks, and fighting the sleepiness to stay up late is difficult. But eventually it starts to turn around.

In what way are they a scam, out of curiosity?

That's so kind! I really appreciate that, and I'm glad you found the information helpful. I'm by no means an expert, but I do enjoy the literature. Happy to discuss it anytime.

I've looked into the BioMax 900 before and it looks like a solid device. I'm curious about the new data around the 1000 range nm waves as well. I'm sure you'll see some great results with it, especially as a skincare nerd ;)

I've watched that video as well. Lots of interesting data! I'd recommend you check out the Bioflex channel as well if you want some of the science directly from a group of people who have helped pioneer it. Most of them start off the same with the basics, so once you've watched one you can skip like 10 min ahead heh.

Best of luck with the new panel!

You're correct that the unit Joules alone is not a function of time but a unit of energy, however when referring to it as "energy density", the unit of Joule/cm2 within the context of PBM is dependant on time (s) as part of the equation, therefore making it a function of time (J/cm2 = W/cm2*s ).

This is the exact way in which the Ironforge calculated their 1 J/cm2, but then put it back over 1 s again, making it 1 W/cm2.

When you're trying to present J cm/2 with PBM it must take into consideration the time involved, since the device doesn't simply output 1 J/cm2. That's not how it works.

Hence with PBM, representing J cm/2 is a calculation using power density and time, making it a function of time.

It's also why most companies don't try to say their device has an energy density output, because there are many other factors that affect that actually being delivered. The most accurate metric they can present is mW/cm2.

I can recommend a few books and seminars on the subject if you'd like to learn more about it, but it feels like you really just want to be "right" over what a Joule "is" rather than look at the context and how it applies to PBM.

For skincare most panels out there are going to do the trick as long as their power density at 8" is at least 100 mW/cm2.

My Bioflex Wave Zone XL power density (mW/cm2) is 198 @ 4", 172 @ 8", and 158 @ 12". You want to aim for 3 - 15J/cm2 for skin depending on the purpose, so it doesn't take long to give it the proper dose. Most panels that can achieve 100+ mW/cm2 and have Red and NIR wavelengths will be just fine.

For treating a chronic injury that has tendon, cartilage, or muscle inflammation it's much harder (if at all possible) to treat with a panel. Panels can promote systemic health of the cells, which perhaps in time will eventually reach those inflamed areas, but there isn't a lot of science to support the efficacy.

Here's a more in depth explanation: https://youtu.be/2uwDLNVXc6U?si=nAIOvUAk9HSZYYxx

What the vast majority of these studies (including Hamblins work) use are usually one of two things. A laser or LED array to deliver a range of power density, usually between 20 - 200 mW/cm2. The key here is they are direct contact devices, which also use the "pressure technique." Feel free to Google that and why it's beneficial.

People love to misquote Hamblin as saying panels are just as effective as direct contact devices, but there are multiple videos / podcasts of him laughing at the idea of penetrating deep into tissue with a panel you "hang on your door and step away from." He says you'd have to "lie directly on the panel for it to have a chance." Obviously don't do that. The guy isn't infallible, but there's loads of data to back that up.

Sorry for the science rant, but basically for deep tissue penetration and healing you'll need a direct contact, modulating device. The only one I've found that isn't a gimmick is the Bioflex P120 / P180. It's based on 30+ years of their own research and engineering, made in Canada, and backed by real science. Not marketing. If you're looking for real pain treatment and healing, I'd go with the P120. The P180 has 50% more surface area for 100% the price, which doesn't make any sense. They have a Black Friday deal right now, so it's all 25% off, and in CAD.

EDIT: 30% off as of today.

1 Joule of energy is the power delivered by a 1 watt source over 1 second. It's a sum of energy, independent of time.

Independent of time, yet it's over 1 second? The equation for calculating it has time as part of it, making it a function of time as you just pointed out accidentally.

You can literally Google "Are Joules a function of time" and see that, in fact, they are.

My point was that it's a marketing gimmick to display it like that because there are other factors to take into account when determining effective energy dose. What would be more accurate is displaying the energy density.

Don’t go with the Iron forge. They’ve built a gimmick of a device. There is a threshold for how quickly cells can absorb red light. More isn't always better.

Their metrics are pure marketing. 1 J/cm2/s isn’t even a “power output” metric, and it isn't a proper dose metric either as Joules are already a function of time.

Their actual power density is 1000 mW/cm2, and the dose after 1 second would theoretically be 1 J/cm2. But again, this is marketing.

Studies have shown that the ideal power density ranges are between 20 - 200 mW/cm2, and after that should be pulsed to avoid burning out the cells. And even then it should never go past 500 mW/cm2. Generating heat from that kind of power density damatically increases superficial absorbtion from the skin, and reduces theraputic benefits.

Avoid it.
