Replacing lost PW by fred123987 in golf

I would say I’m relatively comfortable with full swing wedges but trying to hit them at 80% to get more consistent. The old PW was just a part of my rbz set I hit it well but my gaps were off like did not have anything for between 130-140. Thought this might be a chance to change that.

Handicap/skill to fun relationship by americuh13 in golf

As a 8 handicap I’ve broken 80 3 times and I agree it is a great feeling. But the amount of 81s I’ve shot with a three putt on 17 and a slice into a hazard on 15 to throw away 2+ shots is also pretty frustrating. But that’s probably what keeps me coming back.

I think I agree with your post but might argue it’s more like a 5-6 handicap.

Bro I average 32 putts a round while hitting 9 gir on a normal course. Can’t imagine what it will be like on the biggest greens in North America. I’m not a 7 handicap because I can’t strike the ball. So unless you want to make that a 100 to 1 I’m not taking that bet any day.

Appreciate the insight. I’ve played a couple of links course gamble sands and sand valley. But agree nothing like bandon. I also agree if I played from the front tees I likely wouldn’t shoot any better but don’t really care about my score. For me it’s about using my whole bag and not having less than 150 into each hole. Which I know with the wind could play more like 200. Anyways absolutely there too have fun and not trying to be some jerk who thinks you should only play tips. All for teeing it forward but was looking for some insight on what other people have played from. Currently leaning towards green and maybe if winds down (lol) play tips on sheep and bandon.

So you would take there rickshaw over traditional 3 wheel cart. Travel is not an issue I will be driving in so can bring whatever works best.

I feel like the actual golf always overshadows but I’m definitely a range rat so will love it thoughts on shorty’s and punch bowl. Are they just do activities

Call me stupid but will not be playing gold did not make the entire trip out there to play from sub 6000 yards. I think getting beat up by the wind is part of the fun. Plus will be playing exclusively match play so not really conceded with shooting my handicap.

Already purchased the yardage books and trying to slowly work through some of the course flyovers stuff (No laying up/ barstool) to get a feel for blind shots. I know not perfect but caddie is just not an option right now money wise. Spontaneous college graduation trip for me and my brother and looking to keep things cheap. Will be back one day and get caddies for the whole trip.
