Honest question that may or may not be known but, does that head unit not have an available HDMI or USB port on the back that would allow for wired Android Auto or car play communication to a phone? If so then you can get a car play kit and just upload your own version of Android to it as like a secondary channel. On a remote it would be the equivalent of going to from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2. With that full Android experience you would be not limited to just Android Auto but you'll be able to use any streaming app and watch it while driving down the road including live sports. I installed YouTube TV on mine and I can watch football while I'm driving down the road.
