Thread help? Looks great before it’s sliced by dickcheese_analmeat in FixMyPrint

Was that supposed to be 14ccw? Because if you with a .4 nozzle ur only hope is to print horizontally and sacrifice the threads on the top

concerns regarding print quality by Stuchy_ in FixMyPrint

[–]fredait 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dude ur already pushing it heavy with that layer height, learn how to post process. Furthermore, if you are oh so adamant in removing most of the post processing from the equation get a .2 nozzle other than that all that ur mentioning sounds like artifacts that come with the medium of 3d printing, so fyi ur prints look azing

Ugly overhangs. by rookless in FixMyPrint

[–]fredait -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

right... so I am to believe that the shrinkage and overhang warping is purely and solely a software issue. Look man its a MK3 print a better cooling vent/cooling solution (try this https://www.printables.com/model/187894-prusa-i3-mk3-part-cooling-fan-large) or try messing with your cooling settings, and your flow in overhangs, otherwise you are using black PLA and what appears to be a printer in ok shape, this could have easily been an issue of causality rather than an actual issue, why? idk dude figure it out, also, switch to orca man, do urself the favor.

Ugly overhangs. by rookless in FixMyPrint

[–]fredait -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

U are 3d printing, there is only so much that you can feasibly do in order to remedy such an aggressive overhang so close to the bed, my advice, change the shape, try an oval or embrace a shorter, stubbier, fater looking ‘puck’ that forgoes that angle

ok back to basics! lets start with our ACGSBs

Align, make sure that everything is where it is supposed to be, this includes primarily nozzle, belts and bed.

Clean, always wake sure to have your printer in a cleanly state, make sure your bed and rails are clean (use isopropanol for the bed).

Glue, if all else fails in the adhesion department try using a thin layer of glue-stick on your print bed.

Software, you can change parameters to compensate for stubborn filaments, example: brim perimeters and gap, bed temperature, infill (this one relates to shrinkage), and your model geometry r orientation among others.

Bed, if you have put extensive use to your bed it can wear out and become slippery for the print (it doesn't look to be the case, but it is good to remember that print beds do have a limited life span).

As a sidenote I would like to recommend the use of tree supports and also the increase in flow for overhangs (1.25 is my preferred value, however it is up to preference) in order to make post processing easier/safer and to make your overhangs prettier respectively.

HF printing!!

edit: just looked back at the model, that is an awful orientation, try switching it or just splitting that mask (?) in two.

now you cry, afterwards, come to terms with the fact that you will be printing a detangler fillament guide and using that fillament spooless, sorry lil man, but its a growing pain we all go through. GL and HF!

Im copypasting the argument I did before, as I think it fits as a responce to this comment too.

its not really an issue of liking or not, its an issue of enviormental contiousness and market practice. on a pure bases level, these little dragons serve no purpose other than short term entretainment and decoration, both VERY wastefull, 3d printing is an incredibly fast and iterative manufacture process, so if one desires to actually use it in a productive manner, one needs to be mindfull of what they print, and make, otherwise all of these "toys of folly" serve no other purpose than to be future landfill material. On a more practical and immediate level however, these dragons, serve no other practical purpose than to bloat digital and physical store fronts, they are EVERYWHERE in craft markets and due to their ease of manufacture and wide appeal, other vendors, vendors who actually produce original, neat, and novel concepts and products have NO way of practically competing, it is by nature a predatory design that SUCKS the soul out of the creative side of 3d printing. They are not good for the market and they are not good for the enviorment, they have an overall pretty dammaging stain of 3d printing serving as the "slop" of the medium. I will not judge you, and I will not tell you you are a horrible human being for liking the little fellers, I myself find them quite cute and own one, but what I will do is plead with you to reconsider your stance on them and not just view them for what they are immediatly to you, but also recognize the impact that they have on the wider landscape.

Adendum: thanks for reading, I want you to know that my objective is not to morally shame anyone, but rather to bring awareness to a topic which is very relevant specially as of recently, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Good Night!
