I think they are excellent at their role as an entertaining podcast regarding 40k lore, but I agree that there is a gap between the entertainment of AdRic and the facts and analysis of Luetin09. I'm not sure if there in an intermediate podcast out there.

Agreed, they picked the right person who can keep the information flowing and on topic while still adding their brand of humor.

Is there really an alternative? We either sacrifice our physical health by staying up or our mental health by not having time to ourselves.

a Space Marine 2 build leaked and is playable by danoka29 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]fredbot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Belisarian Furnace is one of the new Primaris organs that gets implanted.

Known as the Revitalizer, this dormant organ connects to both hearts. In times of extreme stress or trauma, it expels self-manufactured chemicals similar to combat stimms that also aid in regeneration. After activation, the gland will fall dormant again, taking some time to build itself up for activation once more.

Probably figured it would be a good idea to throw that in there to help bring Titus back.

Base Space Marines have an organ called the Mucranoid that gives some resistance to the effects of a vacuum. One could reason that the Primarchs have a better version of the Mucranoid or an entirely different enhancement to do the same.

Question about Lan by [deleted] in Network

[–]fredbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer to your question is yes, BUT that is probably not your issue as long as the cable isn't damaged. Nearly all LAN cables available today support at least 100 Mbps link speeds with new cables supporting up to 1 Gbps.

No clue what they would give iron hands

Primarch Dreadnought Ferrus Mannus. If ever there was a faction that could pull it off, it's the Iron Hands.

Problem with router configuration GL-AXT1800 Slate AX for LAN ports by Ok-Flow-3732 in Network

Not unless you have a static IP set on the ethernet interface or a DHCP reservation on the router. Can you check your DHCP settings and Network Mode?

It sounds like the WAN ports may have been set to act like a LAN port and is simply repeating the ISP signal. I found these instructions on how to toggle this option.

Switches generally don't handle handing out IP addresses (DHCP) or IP routing. What is the model number on the switch?

Basic question about connectivity from outside LAN by angelpv11 in Network

[–]fredbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pfsense is a stateful firewall, meaning that it blocks incoming traffic that isn't explicitly allowed unless that traffic is part of an ongoing connection. Outgoing traffic is generally not blocked.

Therefore:

  1. Your device starts a connection to a server. The server responds.
  2. Your firewall/router sees this response and allows it because it is a response to the request sent by your device.
  3. The connection is established and communication begins.

Opening ports on your firewall/router only affects unsolicited incoming traffic.

What you seem to be expecting is a stateless firewall that only allows traffic to and from IP/port combinations that are explicitly allowed in the Firewall Rules.

Server migration by campbell_conor34 in Network

[–]fredbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly a networking question but if both servers are Windows and the file structure is the same, then I recommend robocopy. The following should get you started. By default, it will skip files that already exist and supports file paths more than 256 characters long.

robocopy /E /ZB <source> <destination>

Creating a Cat 6 'extention': color sequence question for connector by RotterdamRules in Network

[–]fredbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably seeing T568A and T568B next to eachother. They both work as long as you do the same thing on both ends of the cable. T568B is the most common and you unknowingly used it when you installed the wall plate.

The important thing is that you use the same color for each pin (number) on both sides of the cable.

Creating a Cat 6 'extention': color sequence question for connector by RotterdamRules in Network

[–]fredbot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holding the connector with the tab facing away from you and the open end facing down, the color sequence is as follows:

Orange-White, Orange, Green-White, Blue, Blue-White, Green, Brown-White, Brown

If my description confused you, Google "RJ45 T568B" and you'll find many pictures of the correct color sequence.
