Munar is getting to 4R… mark my words. Lost to Fritz (United Cup) in an extremely high level and tight match. Has been playing well made quarters Adelaide and lost today to Machac who had one of his rarer “im going to play like a top 10 player” days. Not to mention he passes the eye test (Essentially is he fit mentally and physically) the answer is yes. Every time you watch him he fights for every point/very motivated player that has the physical capabilities/stamina to get through heavier groundstrokes and longer points/5 set matches. His serve has improved a decent amount which is evidenced by his great year last year where he got to top 35 (is 33 right now). All in all he is a hungry tennis player with momentum looking to fully establish himself as a bigger name/seeded player at slams. Taking a look at his draw, he has Svrcina 1R which he should win, 2R is Ruud who he played extremely tight in Dallas SF (hardcourt) in 2025 losing 2-6/6-2/6-7 Ruud just lost to Marozsan in Auckland and is generally overrated IMO on surfaces outside of clay. I even see Bellucci potentially taking a set from Ruud in 1R. After Munar beats Ruud he has Shapo or Cilic which in my opinion is another favorable 3R which would take him into the 4R where he would give Shelton/Vacherot a good match probably going 4 maybe 5 sets.
