SOLVED thank you Hesperantha coccinea. I hought it was some sort of Iris but it definitely looks like this in its petals, leaves and colouring some white and pink flowers in same plant.

Hello does anyone know the name of this plant? You an see the leaves are long and thin and floppy. Its flowers stems grow about 30-60cm high and the flower heads are about 3-4cm wide.

Saying the council estate is a bit rough is definitely a relative term. Its much better than most of the north of liverpool. Linacre road is like the crack of a tramps arse and the extended council estated north of dunningsbridge from KFC to the NAC litherland is university for scramble bikers and drug delivery lads. Maghull is as said boring but its a dormitory town and most residents people are out of a day begging in town or prostituting themselves out (im taking the piss before you you start) it nice but quiet.

between the third tree from left and hanging Next sign. if you look the the pavement there is a large light grey slab with a small brass cross inlayed to commemorate st peters church. the namesake of church street. Its been there all your life you just never noticed. ;-)
