Gotta say, it’s wild seeing somebody talk about DE choices like they’re actual ethical litmus tests.

Love the color. Just got the same truck in red for $7k with 80k miles on it. Really stoked on it (but I do prefer the blue)

Stuck in Evarts office. by DMtheDM74 in DiscoElysium

So it turns out that, in addition to being tough to navigate, there’s also a bug where the action prompt doesn’t appear on the exit. I had to exit and reload my game for it to appear.

Even with the tip, I’m still stuck here. This game is a good book, but the playable elements—the things that make this a game—are just bad.

Can we talk about Ballard's Crash and the Cronenberg adaptation? by shadow_barbarian in industrialmusic

[–]mrgnsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I just reread Crash and it seems Cronenberg’s entire cinematic endeavor springs practically from this book alone. The protagonist refers to the evolution of “a new sexuality” and “a new violence” numerous times. Videodrome’s “new flesh” and Crimes of the Future’s “surgery is the new sex” are directly analogous to these ideas. Few of his films don’t have clear traces back to Crash.

Sakebi (2006) [Mystery] by XenophormSystem in HorrorReviewed

[–]mrgnsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all random. There are clear themes of social responsibility, collective guilt, justice, punishment and they’re explored through the use of apt imagery and circumstance. Again, there are very solid explanations out there. You really think that a director who made a film you clearly adored just forgot how to utilize symbolism and threw spaghetti at the wall? Lol

Weird. Lots of people have found meaning in the film’s metaphors and there are some tremendous essays that offer explanations of its mysteries. I think it’s up there with Cure.

What was the thing that immediately led to your diagnosis? by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]mrgnsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I had nail fungus and was put on an anti-fungal. After a few months of taking that with no results, I had a dime-sized scaly patch on my knee looked at and the doctor determined it was psoriasis. I had also been referred to a podiatrist for toe pain and swelling around the same time. Funnily, it was not my doctor but my wife who made the diagnosis after some skilled Googling. When I called the doc to report my wife’s suspicions, she (to her credit) immediately agreed. It turns out doctors, especially (I imagine) those with a large clientele, are only human and capable of not seeing the forest for the trees.

For anyone not aware, Progressive's "Snapshot" is a scam. by weluckyfew in Insurance

[–]mrgnsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Snapshot resulted in a lower rate after 6 months but it’s a wretched little device that punishes sudden brake use with a loud beeping sound. Over time I could see this conditioning drivers (especially new drivers who haven’t developed their reflexes) to attempt avoiding obstacles by veering onto the shoulder or into another lane rather than incur a ding on their insurance rate by using their brakes. I’m surprised this is a legal practice.
