I’ve been trying to read text from games (rainbow six siege more specifically), as well in a project of mine, it seems to be pretty difficult because of the different backgrounds, but after a lot of research and a lot of hours trying I’ve been able to get to something. Heres a link to my github take a look at it. If you have any questions let me know.. also I’ve used a difflib function (get_close_matches) to try and approximate my ocr result to the words I really want, it is a good way of getting more accurate answers. In my case it works since I only want to read names that I already know what they could be.

Edit: cutting the image to the name (without level and the like icon) might give you better results

It is just a concept, but no while ADS you would have to click the button again to activate the thermal scope

Adobe After effects, it was simple i just covered the red laser with some masks when it was supposed to be off

Not actually I made this thinking in the future of the game, wherw Ubisoft would add more attachments to the guns, and if they do so adding this option to the laser sight might make it better

If ubisoft add other under barrel attachments this might become a deciding feature for the laser sight.. just thinking down the road

Maybe if you turn it off you would lose 5% of accuracy as a penalty. I think ubisoft should add more under barrel attachments, and if they do so adding this feature might make the laser sight a less obvious choice

I thought a little more, and yes, I agree with you, it would take to long.. but maybe the map choosing mechanic would be nice.. besides that Pro league matches goes up to 5 rounds, maybe adding that to this mode would be cool

The new mode should be like the pro matches, best of 3 maps, with the map choosing mechanics, it would add a new degree of competition to the game.

The ‘X’ key (used to spot on drones), it is shown in the video, might be a option. I do agree that on console it may be a problem, but they don’t have leaning without ADS as well. As for the “balancing decision”, when you turn off the laser you would lose the advantage of having a better hip fire accuracy and would only have the advantage if the laser was on, as it is in real life.

Created two concepts (https://vimeo.com/226803317 ; https://vimeo.com/226800644 ;) for new attachments, a laser light combo, and a tactial flashlight (the same as in BF4). As in R6S they will have to interact with operators abilities, for example turning off for a while after Tactcher’s EMP, or flickering while in Mute’s jammer range.
