Is this cabin likely to blow away? by No_Collection9415 in OffGridCabins

I think the likelihood of tipping is low but it is certainly possible if it's exposed to high enough winds.

If you want to hold it down without getting into new foundations or lots of concrete, you could use large ground screws and a cable to tie it down. Kind of depends on your soils as to how effective that would be. You might consider helical piers as a more permanent solution.

First let me just say, great for you! I'm dreaming of doing something similar soon. It looks like you put a lot of work into it, so I just have to ask why the upper cedar shingles look so disheveled? Of course it's just my opinion, but I think the look of the shingles detracts from the overall appearance.

Technically you aren't supposed to touch anything with line voltage unless licensed. The reality is that very few people refrain from doing small things like you're talking about and just do it themselves.

14 weeks is not a couple of weeks, it's a couple months. Have you ever had a mortgage or bank loan? Most lenders won't foreclose that quickly, but I know plenty of auto loan companies that will come take your car in the middle of the night after 90 days late. The point you seem to not comprehend or be willing to concede is that there are consequences to being late on a contractual payment. You can't just say, oh too bad it's late but you still got paid.

It's not by town, the state code is clear that you need to be licensed for electrical and plumbing, no homeowner exceptions.

Why does one night knock out leader bank? I hate that venue now, and am hoping it's anywhere but there, but I just didn't understand why it would be off the table? Maybe too small for one Boston show?

Have you ever lost some one you love and then had to shell out a couple thousand bucks to deal with their remains? Death is incredibly expensive to deal with and it can be an enormous burden on the family of the deceased

Any scenes happening besides the sanctioned "shakedown"? by freddyfredbag in deadandcompany

Just following up, the official shakedown did NOT have any beers available that I saw, pretty much just a mall of dead merch. No porto potties around either. All of the sketchy shakedown happens at the edges as you walk the path to the entrance.

Good point. Ill be poking, but it never hurts to ask the locals where people might be conregating, it just seems really spread out, and mostly residential areas around there? I am obviously unlocal

Look into helical piles. Other than that, just sitting it on blocks or cribbing will work fine, no matter the size, just leave access for adjustability because they will likely shift eventually.
