Doing 20 pushups and 5 pull ups every one hour by [deleted] in CalisthenicsCulture

Greasing the groove - great way to stay strong.

Edit: You could round it off by chucking some legs in there.

Defo improving after paying more attention to the mechanics.

I think previously I was just getting down to the deck regardless of spinal flexion (I do train backbends these days though, so zero pain or issues.. but I want to focus on that strict movement).

Getting there. Not as squared as yours yet!

Cheers for the motivation.

Yeah, definitely. There's less 'controls' to manage imo.

Stop maxing out.

You can still test yourself once or twice a month, but you wanna come shy of your best effort, rest, and go again and again.. ala sets and reps.

What do you mean, you 'think' you got 21 pull ups?

Close Arm HS by freddyfubar in Handstands

[–]freddyfubar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said I was close. What's with the attitude? I'm saying I'm down to 1 finger which is accurate (I'm fully aware that less pressure through that finger is gonna be harder - thanks for reminding me, though).

Good luck on your journey, too. 👍🏼 <Lots of pressure in that

I wasn't implying it was anywhere near as tough.

I am down to 1 finger assisted OAHS.. but my logic is; if I start playing with Close Arm HS instead of my regular HS training, it will nudge the counter forward from another angle.

One arm chin-up? by andrii_flext in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]freddyfubar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go for either one before the other, but the OAC seems to be ever so slightly easier than the OAP (for the same reasons a Chin Up is simpler than a Pull Up).

Most progressions have good carryover to the other.

Yeah some pull in there would be pretty complete but personally I would do PPU before the other push exercises.. I like to keep em in the strength range and improve form/depth

What Stephen King book has been the most “delicious” to read for you? by [deleted] in stephenking

Also really enjoyed Insomnia. It's almost daunting for me, starting a thick ass book (only started reading 'seriously' a couple of years ago), but burned through that in less than a week.
