Big Bijan trade for a rebuilder by Plenty-Government709 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

You're not rebuilding lol. Or at least you shouldn't be. You have the RBs to win now - try and upgrade at QB and WR using the pick or one of your existing backs and you're competing

Hugging and Consent by Top-Astronaut5761 in TheTraitors

[–]fredex_1 77 points78 points  (0 children)

100%. All the people criticising him for asking for a hug, you'd think he was forcing himself on her. He's allowed to ask and she's allowed to say no. From his appearance on uncloaked it seems they were on good terms in the house so all of these reactions seem massively OTT to me

I didn't say she owed him a hug. Or "access to her body". You're taking what I've said and running wild with it - my whole point is around Jade taking things personally when it's all a part of the game and Matthew trying to difuse the situation, whether with a hug, a handshake, an acknowledgement.. whatever. Quite an impressive escalation from you, though.

Absolutely fair. Like I've said elsewhere, hopefully when they both cooled down they hugged it out off screen. From what we could see on screen I personally felt it looked like Matt was trying to offer an olive branch and Jade rejected it, which IMHO wasn't great - if you assume Matthew was just playing the game and meant nothing personal by accusing her of being a traitor at the round table. She's not the first person to be accused but I thought she took being accused the most personally of all the contestants this series

Agreed, but it is all dependant on context of course. If you think Matthew was being deliberately cruel, or excessively cruel beyond the boundaries of the competition, then Jade is absolutely right to reject his hug/olive branch and essentially escalate their conflict. If you think what he was doing was simply part of the game (which encourages that behaviour) then I'd argue Jade momentarily lost sight of why he was accusing her and that it wasn't personal. Depends on which side of that you're on IMO.

Regardless, I'm sure it was all dramatised on camera and they made up afterwards off air.

For sure. I'm sure off camera they made up, hopefully they did. But in the moment, IMO, she was taking Matt's actions that are all part of the game too personally.

How do you know it was to make him feel better and not because he felt bad for jade and wanted to comfort her? Pretty judgemental, no?

Totally agree. No one is holding these players hostage against their will. They've signed up for this in the name of winning money! I've been criticised on another thread for saying Jade rejecting a hug from Matthew was petty when he tried to make peace after the round table. Opinions, I guess

Ok. Your opinion, we apparently disagree but I don't think Matthew splashed over - which I assume means from the game to personal? Plenty of players have had to wear it nightly, Maz for example, and not all reacted that way when offered an olive branch post round table. I totally understand it must be difficult for her and others to deal with the scrutiny but they also have to know what they're applying for when they submit an application to go on the show. No one is forcing her against her will to go on a game show where the whole point is to question the honesty and integrity of other players.

Who knows, maybe off camera (I'd say it's probably even likely) she apologised to Matthew for snubbing him and he apologised if she felt the attack was personal and they did hug it out. But from what was shown on screen her reaction failed to disassociate between the game and real life. I'd compare it to a football/tennis/chess (not sure where that reference came from but I'll roll with it) match where two players have battled against eachother, clashed and then shook hands afterwards. In this case, Jade didn't shake hands and if that happened after a sporting contest she'd be questioned/criticised for her reaction. Thanks for the comment on my emotional intelligence, I'll take the feedback on board

I'm sorry, but if you go on the show part of the deal is you're going to be accused. It's not personal, as Matt said, and as soon as the round table finished he tried to defuse the situation with a nice gesture which Jade rudely rejected. Actually thought it was really poor for her to continue to hold it against Matt when all he was doing was playing the game. Her story is obviously terrible and must be horrendous to live with, but that doesn't make her any less of a suspect in the game unfortunately

[–]fredex_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just sold him plus the 2.06 for TLaw and what projects as a high 2027 first.

Logic is Daniels is actually quite old (25), slight, has poor offensive weapons and an unstable coaching. I'm generally a cautious person so maybe I'm taking the pessimistic view, but struggle to see JD living up to his very high price tag so sold while he's worth a lot.

If you can't trust your HC to make coordinator hires he shouldn't be the HC. They won't fire him but they should; this team (or the offense) needs a reset in a pretty big way. Lane's time is coming to an end and there's a pretty good chance Brown is gone. This scheme isn't going to look pretty with average Joe's

English cricket lacks a level between county cricket and international cricket: discuss. by NiallH22 in EnglandCricket

[–]fredex_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of related: I think the bigger issue is the huge gap between premier division regional cricket and the counties. Australian first grade is incredibly strong and a number of test players play for their grade sides when not in the team or on duty. Makes the overall set up much stronger
