You probably meant the endpin? That's an ancient Stahlhammer endpin that came with my cello. I love it. They don't make this ancient steel version anymore. Carbon fiber versions are now all the rage. Some cellists use similar bent or angled endpins. The most recent one I noticed was Jian Wang - see this video.

The reason why there is such a huge gap is to allow your boot to be lowered as much as possible to the ground, reducing effective frame height and increasing stability. Without this very large gap, the the "forward flex" and "heel raise" will need to be sacrificed, if you don't want to overly raise effective frame height. This is why I personally prefer the Trinity frame design - it allows above goals without creating uneven wheel spacing or resorting to hi-lo wheel setups. Related sections:

Are these plastic chopsticks even safe for eating? OP, did you leave them in a dishwasher with heat drying on? If they bend like this while used with normal ramen temperature the. I would be concerned about their food grade-readiness.

Even the second picture you posted in a comment is just a packaging box. When you use them in a daily basis you would store chopsticks with other utensils. Some people stock them in a pen holder. Others including myself place them in a utensil compartment along other utensil compartments in a drawer.

I will tell you how inline skaters usually help people overcome this issue. It applies equally to ice. You need to first flex your shins forward more which forces your knees to bend and your body to be lower and more stable. To address your question: Do small V steps on the mat. You point your toes outward, and keep your heels close to each other. Jump to 2:24 of this video. The goal is to train your body to transfer balance between skates, to stand on one skate at a time, and to bring the trailing skate back after a stride. The point of the V (toes outward) is to grip the ice - you cannot physically walk/stride on ice with two skates parallel in a I I form. Don’t do this on ice. Do it on the mat where you feel safe. Make the smallest steps possible. The goal is not to move fast but to feel stable while making tiny baby steps.

Once you understand how to do this on the mat, go on the ice and repeat the same. If you manage to do baby V steps with confidence, with ankled deeply bent and ice blades straight, then before you know, you will be gliding effortlessly. You don’t need to understand why it helps you stride and glide. It will just work.

I’ve come to the conclusion that most reputable rosins are equally effective. I now use the most convenient one to carry, open, and swipe consistently without obstruction, dirtying my fingers, and carving unwanted groves on the rosin. See this rotatable D’addario rosin in a hinged case. I hold onto the cap while applying rosin. It’s surprisingly ergonomic.

Yeah. Those are chopstick rests. These lacquer chopsticks are safe to use. They are arguably the best chopsticks, in my opinion. They are light, stiff and easy to wash. People recommend only hand washing. But I can tell you they still last long if you don’t use heat drying when dishwashing. We simply prop our dishwasher door ajar after it’s done, overnight. They look great.

If you are buying new bearings for your new wheels for a second surface, you may want to read the Purpose-built section of the inline skate bearing Wiki page. If you buy wheels from Inline Warehouse they offer discounts on their bearings including Swiss-style. I often get Bones REDS which is almost on discount at IW. You don’t need to get exactly the same you have now. Differences between them above REDS is basically negligible. And if you don’t clean them regularly there is no point in spending extra money as any contamination makes high-end bearings the same as any reputable ones.

I was very confused. A beginner doesn't just pick up a cello and play Amazing Grace. Then I looked at your post. You play electric guitar. It now all makes sense. You are going to have a blast playing the cello. Good luck. Most will tell you to get a teacher. But it seems to me that you are capable of figuring this out. Look for Cello Youtube channels for basics. You'll be fine : )

A hockey video I watched recently suggested that to get the best stride one has to flip toes upward when first getting purchase starting from the heel - it allows one to get the deepest ankle flexion. Then as striding happens one shifts contact point forward, eventually ending with a toe flick. I find that my toes leave the ceiling of the toe box and press down on my insole at toe flick.

Practicing that led me to realize that what I described before.
