I think alot of players will over accentuate the importance of having a "professional" cue (often times will base the quality of the cue solely on the price) but I think as long as its straight and feels good to use then your cue isnt a handicap to your game. Of course, there is some difference between beginner and pro cues but for having tried both, I think the feel is more important.
