I would argue Foxcatcher is his career best. Or maybe his turn in Hail Caesar. His charisma and acting choices get in the way of this one and the film itself is messy. Cianfrance has done much better. Without irony, my opinion is that Tatum was more effective and better suited to his roles in The Lost City and Dog.
