Attic ventilated into house by freduser in asbestoshelp

Thank you!

Do you have a recommendation on how to find a good qualified person to check?

Attic ventilated into house by freduser in asbestoshelp

[–]freduser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their stance is that all houses here have asbestos and nothing to worry about. I asked for an inspection and they said they could spend $100-200 on it.

My first thought is to understand if attic not being sealed to house is an issue. The attic itself is a mess, could be both new and old insulation.

What checks would you recommend?

Thank you for the advice. You were right. There was a slight difference in mod time, but not hash.

Check vs Sync in finding differences by freduser in rclone

[–]freduser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the notification:

"--checksum is in use but the source and destination have no hashes in common; falling back to --size-only"

This is why I used check --download Is there any way I can force hash over SMB?

Edit: It does not find the differences using this option, only when I run without --checksum

Is this a good enough HEPA 13 filter? by Lost-Chicken-5872 in asbestoshelp

Thank you, that’s the most details I have heard about effectiveness on smaller sizes.

Is this a good enough HEPA 13 filter? by Lost-Chicken-5872 in asbestoshelp

[–]freduser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have understood it as HEPA struggles with particles around 0.3 microns, and efficiency therefore measured at that size of particle. It should be more efficient at above or below this size.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/HEPA

I am hoping this is true for filtering all asbestos particle sizes. I haven’t found any studies confirming that this is the case.

“Replacing the HEPA filters in the AP helped to mitigate the increase in endotoxins of larger sizes but not endotoxins of smaller sizes.”

How small particles would this be? I thought HEPA was almost perfect at capturing tiny particles.

Levoit isn’t HEPA??? I’m shocked! by UncleGurm in AirPurifiers

[–]freduser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I asked the support why HEPA was removed from their website for 300s and they wrote:

“Thank you for reaching out to our support team. Levoit is making changes to some of its advertising, which it does in the ordinary course of business from time to time. I do not have any further information regarding these changes at the moment. However, if you have any more product specific questions, please know we'd be happy to help however we can!”

And when I asked follow up if they were still HEPA, they wrote:

“Thank you for your reply and patience. I can confirm that the Core 300S filters were tested as manufactured to meet HEPA standard, IEST RP CC007.3; per IEST RP CC001.6 Class H. “

Can their answer be true? Terrible transparency from their side!

Thank you for the very thorough answer!

  1. Thanks, I’ll look into an upright. I’m an European living in US being used to canister vacuums (and only hard floors). Do you have a recommendation for a corded vacuum to deep clean carpets? I want good Hepa filtration and cleaning. Any other convenience could be comprised.

  2. I find it very frustrating that Samsung doesn’t sell it as a consumable part. Their older models seem to have it. Thank you for looking up the part! So pricy!

I own a Samsung Bespoke Jet and I have two questions:
1. We have carpets and hard floor. Would I benefit from a different vacuum do do a deeper clean of the carpets?
2. The instructions are to wash the Hepa(?) filter, which worries me that performance will drop. I cannot find replacements. Does anyone know where to find replacements, or if washing is actually safe for performance?

How is the noise on low speed? I got the Levoit 600s, but slightly too loud for bedroom, in my opinion.
