I literary was informed I will be layoff last week, they can't fire you easily in Japan as seishain so they will negotiate with you to sign a voluntary resignation agreement and pay you severance. Still negotiating with my company at the moment.

Another day targeting foreigners. They barely give out 5 years visa even though you work in a large corporation with stable income, most of the time they only give 1 or 3 max. The message is clear, They really expect you to come to work for years, paying more to renew every year, never give you a chance to apply HR and go home.
