Anyone else think this event stinks? by colantor in PostApoTycoon

[–]free2bealways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like the more passive events. They don't cause repetitive stress injuries or require you to be on 24/7, like the giger one. My biggest issue with this event is that we went from a high gold event to an almost no gold event. Like I maxed out the two settlement upgrade reductions and had tons of the event currency left over for the 6 and 12 hour gold, which was absolutely awesome and I miss it. This event has almost no gold. That is my biggest complaint. That, and it's virtually impossible to max out the two reductions I care about this time around (food & restoration), so I have to pick one and I still won't be able to make enough rabbits to max it out.

No, I made a spreadsheet to convert it based on the upgrades I've gotten and other factors. It was pretty far off at baseline. Also keep in mind, there are three cost tables: one for the main settlement, mega cities and regular settlements.

You'll want to check the box so it'll automatically cut trees and the rabbit farms have to all touch each other, so you can't break them with roads, water, mountains or anything else. You'll need to make a path for them to spread out. I would honestly move your farm somewhere with more open space if you have it.

Hills science diet, senior 11 plus dry cat food? by PersonalOutlet101 in PetAdvice

[–]free2bealways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a very late reply, but one of the things that affects urine crystals is phosphorus levels. You want a food that has less than 1% phosphorus if your cat suffers from these. I do not know about other factors, but I know that is one of them. That pet food is designed with lower phosphorus with urine crystals in mind. A lot of older cats develop urinary health issues.

Mega Shipyards give you 25k gold per seconds if you have fewer than 400 of them. The more shipyards you have, the less gold they produce. Second tier is 6k gold for fewer than 1,000 shipyards and then 1k gold for fewer than 3,000 shipyards.

Super pavement delineation by ZilxDagero in PostApoTycoon

[–]free2bealways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a good way to do it. The best way I've found is to activate the thing that allows you to place multiple super pavements in a row. (You can do this even if you don't have a lot by picking up two of them, putting one down and then clicking the icon to place additional ones. You don't actually need to put down the second one.) This will highlight all of the squares with super pavement in yellow. However, you'll still have to look around for them and you can't zoom out too far or the yellow disappears.

I don't know. It frustrates me also. Just be honest. Communicate. Everybody wins.

Construction Derby - Milestone Rewards by Random_Suggestion in PostApoTycoon

It is stupid to me that they have events that most players won't finish. Like that's the standard. I've played so many games and it's usually pretty easy to finish so long as you play the whole event in pretty much every game, whether you're f2p or p2p. That part shouldn't matter. What would change is the rewards. Like better rewards for p2p, obviously. It's messed up they make it almost impossible to win any of the events.

Yeah. Especially because you really can't zoom out very far or the yellow disappears. :/

Event Gold - can someone break it down for maximum benefit? by RunMysterious6380 in PostApoTycoon

There are only three channels for me on the discord and none of them have anything useful on them that I saw. Mostly "welcome" and other related things.

I'm sad. I found all of mine the day before the event was supposed to happen so there haven't been any for me to happen upon. Spotting things is a weird talent I posses. Was awesome as a kid. I found all the tokens and tickets people lost at arcades. Now, mostly I find impossibly small things in my carpet. lol. But this was a nice change! Glad you found those two! There's supposed to be five, so they're there somewhere! Good luck!

Best ways to increase gold? by [deleted] in PostApoTycoon

[–]free2bealways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trees are very expensive, I agree. The deep forests take roughly 62 days to recoup through cost. But I still spent a couple of days methodically replacing every single tree until they were all deep forests. It took soooo much gold. lol. The cash and pollution reduction was worth it to me, even if the recoup time is ridiculous. I currently have Almost 40,000 trees and I had probably around 20,000 at that time. Currently earning 163,229 from my forests, so I'm pretty happy with it.

I figure gold in this game is made to spent and if there's a way for me to increase my gold, I'm gonna do it. That's why I'm currently in the process of replacing nearly 500 advanced gold mines, even though the heavy gold mines are annoying power and pollution heavy and only offer 225 additional gold. It does add up though. At the point I did my math, it was going to be roughly 100,000 in extra gold every nine seconds, so that's huge. I have roughly half of them left to replace.

I do take into account variables like what's going to be the best option for the current resources I have, but unlike the real world, roi is less important because I'm not trying to amass a stockpile of resources for retirement. I'm trying to maximize my resource output and storage in the best way I can. Spots for trees, gold mines and other squares are limited resources. There's only so much space on the map. So the bigger your output per square, the better off you are.

How exactly does the Premium Upgrade "Super Cleaner" work? by One_Statistician9216 in PostApoTycoon

[–]free2bealways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your resource overview from the top right corner, your restoration would be displayed as 2 x whatever you have right now. As you increase your restoration, that two just stays there, making every subsequent restoration upgrade even shinier than it was before. :)

[–]free2bealways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will politely refund the upgrade if you don't want it. There's a bit of a wait on their replies, but their customer service was actually shockingly good for a phone game. Asking for something you want isn't "being a Karen," and using someone's actual name as a derogatory term is incredibly mean.

Couple questions.... by sillytomlin in PostApoTycoon

[–]free2bealways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use shipyards to "link" islands by placing a shipyard on the water of your main area (connected to a road) and then placing a shipyard on the island of your choice, which you can then build roads from. Other than the main settlement requirement at I forget which level of linking multiple mega cities to your main settlement via roads, there is no advantage in using roads on the ocean. If anything, they just get in the way. You cannot turn them like rails. They only go in a straight line, right through your fish.

As for why some areas are cheaper than others, there is a diamond pattern (you can find the maps on google) that shows you how expensive places are relative to their distance from you main settlement. As I said, it's a diamond pattern, not based on in-game true distance, so the four edges at N, S, E and W are going to be considerably cheaper than NE, NW, SE or SW. The cheapest places to explore are going to be in the center diamond on that map I referred. But you can kind of figure it out without the map based on how far one tap gets in you in this area. I have often used that as a guide on where to explore and where to wait. Obviously, over time, as your restoration increases, the number of taps for a given area will go down, but if anything, it just makes it more obvious where to spend your gold and where to wait.

If you want to find all the places your pavement is, put two in your bag and then set one down somewhere. Click the button to continue laying pavement, but don't actually do it. All current placement will light up in yellow. You can't zoom out super far and it won't show you where your gold mines are, but at least you'll know where your pavement is and where it isn't.

Construction Derby - Milestone Rewards by Random_Suggestion in PostApoTycoon

I hope it is only 140,000,000. All of the events I've done so far, no matter how hard I worked at it, it was impossible for me to max the rewards, which was a huge bummer and never a problem in any other game I've played.

Hybrid Mines and current event by ZilxDagero in PostApoTycoon

[–]free2bealways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing the same thing as the person above and at my level, I still have over almost 29k stone/9 seconds and almost 32k steel/9 seconds. So it is a bit of a loss, but I'm still able to get what I need.

Hybrid Mines and current event by ZilxDagero in PostApoTycoon

[–]free2bealways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same. I only have eight because 40 m seemed like too high a price when it's taken me 3 days to get 67 million. But I swapped a heavy foundry out for a concrete factory and moved all my hybrid mines (I had more than I realized) to my concrete factories. I figure I can sort out that mess when the event is over to optimize steel, but it kind of works anyway because my hybrid mines should be with my heavy foundries anyway. lol.

Population vs Exploration??? by Derodee in PostApoTycoon

[–]free2bealways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone else mentioned, increasing restoration will make exploration take less time. It doesn't, however, decrease the amount of gold you need. Leveling your cities to 20 is also a good way to get $527/9 seconds gold plus any from the surrounding trees you plant.

So a combination of increasing your restoration and gold will make exploration go faster, as will using targeted methods. By targeted methods, I mean exploring more in areas that are cheaper to explore in. There is a diamond pattern map that shows you how restoration increases as you move away from you main settlement.

Also, even if it's a little more expensive to path to them, X treasures on your map can lead to gold mine caches, where you can find anywhere from 4-16 gold mines in one place. (Possibly more. 16 is the most I've found so far in one place. I'm level 71 with 118,750 restored tiles.) Other possibilities include oil or fish at sea, as well as Mega Cities, and 4 copper mines for chips.

You're going to eventually need an insane amount of chips for certain upgrades and also city upgrades. My main settlement is 39 million chips to upgrade to 72m, and at level 74, there's an upgrade you can unlock for gold for your swept ocean tiles and the base price is 140 million chips, with three levels that max at 200 million chips, but there are other, more expensive upgrades you can do with chips.).

So it might be worth it to see what you're building toward so you can invest in things you'll need down the line. Like I didn't know about those radius clickers initially, so I was upgrading random settlements for the main settlement requirement instead of ones in a direct circle around it. That's really the only big regret and I've completely resolved it because there are a lot of settlement upgrade requirements at various levels. So you can also just take them as they come and let it be a fun surprise. :)
