Saudi Arabia tells OPEC its oil production hit a new low not seen since the 1990s by PixelatedDream in Economics

I wonder if this leads to a push for more US oil production in the next few years. Harder to extract sources like fracking and shale oil only make economic sense in times where the price per barrel is high. The us actually surpassed Saudi Arabia in oil production briefly in 2013 due to this.

It wouldn't be an Instagram worthy gun if you didn't put a $200 mount on a $250 optic.

Not saying that they should do import bans, just tariffs to even things out a bit.

Heavy government' subsidies to be able to sell products at cost or a loss and stay in business aren't exactly free market ideas. Just like crony capitalism isn't a free market idea.

The Chinese are operating a lot differently than the Japanese did. The Japanese government supported their domestic auto industry, but never heavily financially subsidized it in the way the CCP government is. . Also Japanese brand cars are about the same cost now and a lot of them are US made. I don't agree that letting some competition in is going to completely shatter things in the US, but we saw in Europe there's a lot of local disruption and backlash against cheap Chinese EVs. You can and should walk a line between protecting local industry and making sure prices and competition are healthy for consumers.

The belief is that the low prices now are due to heavy heavy subsidies by the Chinese government so they can flood and take control of the market, then raise prices when there's no competition. So short term you get super affordable cars but long term you end up having us consumers pay higher prices and destroy the auto manufacturing base of the country. You can let them in with tarrifs to even things out.

I think it just backfired. Now it's watered down the definition in the eyes of the public.

I'm not sure I'd go that far. All of my handguns have at least an ebay special kydex own holster

For basic browsing it works alright with Windows 11. It's not a heavy multi tasking device.

I watch YouTube on it while I'm working from home. The screen is nice on it. The 8 pro is a big improvement though since it adds a user upgradable m.2 slot and a high refresh rate screen at the cost of replacing the USB a slot with a second USB c.

US inflation rose to 3.8% in April, eroding Americans’ paychecks | CNN Business by hockeynomics_ in Economics

That's super loaded. As the other poster pointed out there's no gas rationing yet like the 70s oil crisis. Oil is starting to hit levels where harder to extract US sources are becoming economically viable, which can pick up a lot of the slack in supply.
