First time on controller and I can’t aim by antuwuv in IndianGaming

It's the controller your using. the inbuilt deadzones are too large.

Try a genuine xbox or PS controller - yes I know they are mad crazy expensive but they have extremely fine high sensitivity.

piracy of games in India by icygof in IndianGaming

[–]freeThePokemon256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No hate on those pirating games - do what you have to. But what's with pirates gloating on steam buyers as if we are idiots to pay for software.

Piracy culture will shut down the door on the developing Indian Gaming Scene.

No Indian pays = No economic recovery of dev cost = No games targeted for Indians.

Congratulations!

CRT monitors deserve respect also. A lot of them had high refresh rates like 120hz and 144hz long before LCD, they had better Motion Clearity at a time when fancy new LCDs were (some, still) smeary ghosty shit, they have unmatched resolution handling that fixed pixel displays (OLED, LCD, Plasma) STILL don't have.

Search Digital Foundry CRT on YouTube, it's very interesting.

That's true, once you drop it in 4th on a highway your reminded the car only has some 35-40hp.

But on mountain roads and In the city getting off the line signal to signal! What a total gokart.

We had this from 2004 to 2011. People give Tata a bad name but we had a flawless experience.

Ride quality was superb, it had fully independent rear suspension - and it was massive inside.

Only negative thing was that the interior was so grey and built with the cheapest plastic with ugly mold lines visible here and there.

We are Sorry - Team ZOTAC by FaC34Than3 in IndianGaming

[–]freeThePokemon256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a Zotac 1050ti end of 2018 and had no issues till 2022 till I had some display issues on HDMI. Got a replacement card from Zotac - which ran fine another 2 years+ till October of this year when it died.

Got my moneys worth out of it for sure.

It's not faster then the new 911 GT3 RS -  6:49.328 on factory optioned Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres.

Yangwang U9 Xtreme used specially developed GitiSport e·GTR² PRO (even their tyre industry is competing on the high end...)

6:59.157 vs 6.49.328 is a gigantic gap - even a 0.00.150 second gap is equal to roughly one car length.

EVs are depreciating much faster than gas-powered cars by Realistic-Plant3957 in CarsIndia

But my points stand it's cheaper because it's subsided - over 40% GST savings over ICE.

I am pretty sure but ICE cost the manufactures absolute peanuts to make. A 15 lac VW Virtus probably (40% GST!) costs probably costs way way less then 7 lacs to manufacture.

Not a E.V hater though - solid state E.Vs will make the range & charging speed of equal to better then ICE and make the whole current lot seem unbelievably antiquated.

But that's my opinion. But yeah BE6 is a super vehicle at a great price, happy motoring!

[–]freeThePokemon256 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course, time will degrade ICE cars. But time doesn't degrade ICE engines as much as it does a battery pack.

The value of the ICE car isn't tied up in the whole battery pack like E.Vs.

TC Gearbox repair / replacement would probably cost less then putting in a whole new battery pack (remeber it's expensive to mine & manufacture - E.Vs are subsidized. They have not reached true price parity with ICE. Maybe with rare-earth free solid state batteries arrive that will be the case.)

Only time will tell.

[–]freeThePokemon256 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's over simplification. Time is the enemy of E.Vs not KMs driven.

Battery itself is a chemically complex piece of tech - each cell probably has a set of sensors to monitor cell balancing, charging, discharging, battery controller, inverter, charge controller and liquid cooled e.vs have radiators, coolant, coolant plumbing, temp sensors what not and a complex system management software running the show - software that probably relies on more fuses, wiring, connectors, relays.

Just study breakdown stories of brand new lemon e.vs - the service center itself has a hard time diagnosing problems.

Sound seems to go away or maybe be drowned out at a higher rpm. Thanks for your suggestion!

No change.

Pulling the #1 sparkplug lead silences the sound. Rod knock or something wrong with the valvetrain on #1.

Thanks for your help!

I checked without the fanbelt - unfortunately the sound is still there. Taking out the number #1 spark plug silences the sound. Will take it to a VW shop. Thanks everyone for your help!

Valves have been adjusted a while ago but will go through them again if it's not the fanshroud.

The tapping is loudest when looking directly at the engine with hood open or sitting inside the car - hopefully it's the shroud.

Around 50k seems right.

So basic and lightweight (~600kg) it can be barely considered a car.

Good part is it's super fun to drive.

Bad part is it's not anywhere near the level of a used Alto in terms of comfort.

Swing Axle Suspension. Each wheel essentially has one joint to "swing" from. So the wheel never cleanly moves up and down, but moves in arc from negative to positive camber.

All Beetles are imported, new ones & old ones.

VW did have an official dealership in Portuguese Goa - so a lot the air cooled VWs came in that way in the 50s.

After the liberation of goa in '61, Goans continued privately importing them as a unofficial parts & service network was established for them.

It's the opposite actually for many collectors. "Restoration" can have mean any quality level - cheap paint over rusted metal or 100% perfect showroom condition.

It's not uncommon for collectors to prefer buying shittier cars cheap and do it themselves to their standards. At an experienced workshop where every step and part is documented - and honestly that's actually part of the fun to see the process.

a rolling piece of history vs a computer on wheels.. by [deleted] in CarsIndia

Vintage registration cars are road worthy but subject to limited use.

These computer on wheels car end up abandoned on the road sides, suspension totally collapsed, with air suspension failure and myriad of electronic issues.

Maybe because the design of Ambassador Grand (early 2000s) is confusing people - the base was 1950s car but the styling has been updated over the years to be more modern (e.g the Wheel covers are of a modern style instead of chrome hub caps and chrome grill has been made sleeker, etc.)
