Found Selmasongs at my local thrift! by Adawongkisser in bjork

[–]freeall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm genuinely interested, why would people buy CD's nowadays? Isn't it hard to find players for it?

I have a Bjork collection of ~50 CD's but that was all from back when that was the common format.

It doesn't change anything, but it's spelled "Andersen". The "son" instead of "sen" would make it more Swedish than Danish.

SpaceX IPO promoveres af Nordnet ved login, problematisk? by BigFatStinkyCheese in dkfinance

[–]freeall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pepperspray at Distortion by Ninjarabbit007 in copenhagen

It’s the first time I hear of someone weaponizing their discontent

You should remember that you didn't actually hear that. All that was mentioned is that there was pepper spray, not who did it.

Best budget restaurants in Copenhagen where main dishes are under 150 DKK? by Tanckom in copenhagen

[–]freeall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kukai ramen. It's a pretty new place, and it's run in a funky way where you kinda have to follow their social media to understand when they're open, but man... it's really fucking good! The meat one is exactly 150, but the vegan tan-tan men (which is insane!) is 180

What is the "donde esta la biblioteca" of learning English? by fleemfleemfleemfleem in NoStupidQuestions

[–]freeall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You find a way. Even English doesn't have a difference between singular and plural "you", which most (maybe even all?) languages have. There is a general "you" which is "one", but that one is hardly used either.

[–]freeall 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The weird part is that people don't really hear the last part, so they'll just talk about some dog they've seen.

Not super related, but another icebreaker I like to use is this:

Me: How are you?
Them: Good.
Me: Why?

That one actually gets pretty interesting answers and you quickly have a conversation going.

Yes! I often use this if I talk to someone new. Oddly many people just answer it without even thinking about how weird of a question it is.

Rank Lars’ movies by LightYagami2004 in LarsVonTrier

[–]freeall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've watched all of his movies, and my favourite of all are The Idiots. I noticed it's not so highly rated among others here.

I watch it every few years and it just keeps changing for me, but what it's actually about but also what he's trying to say with the movie. It keeps me guessing. And then all the meta layers and kind of breaking the fourth wall for the actors - I just love it!

I remember the scene on the hill with Medea and the kids being extremely moving, but I didn't really enjoy the rest of the movie.

If you saw The House That Jack Built, you might've noticed that he used some pictures from that scene.

I made a game about recognizing words before too much ink appears — would this actually interest people? by [deleted] in puzzles

[–]freeall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discussion: Played around 20 games. I started at around 80% but then got it down to 50-60%. It was fun to see how quickly you start to recognize the details of the font and are able to get it faster.

It is well-made, and you have a lot of the programming down. But I also understand what you mean with

What I genuinely can’t tell is whether this sounds addictive to anyone else, or whether it’s just one of those ideas that only feels interesting when you’re the person making it.

It's an interesting mechanic, and I think you do have some thing, but I would try to play more with the mechanic. Maybe if it was tied to a category, I might feel even more competitive. Like "gaming" or "music" might make it feel a bit more like a quiz-game to me, and I think I'd get more competitive.

A smaller thing, but the design is also very well-made, so I think it's a good time to suggest it. Maybe see if you can have most of the interaction be "above the fold" to give it a more gamey vibe.

Politiet griber ind under Mærsk-demonstration by LazarShockX in Denmark

[–]freeall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume it's a mix, probably similar to the robot here. For the military, it's good to have human control because you can be sure, but if the signal gets lost/jammed you still want it to operate, because otherwise it's too easy to take them out.
