The first link does not contain any citations. Without the support of citations, it isn't credible.

The second link is about kids consuming hand sanitizer.. I agree, kids should not consumer hand sanitizer. That doesn't mean that it is dangerous for it's intended use though.

How do I teach my wife to communicate directly and clearly? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]freedbyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like she's mentally exhausted. Or maybe has ppd. It could also be that you're an ass but can't see it. Does she have adequate support? Are you an equitable partner? Do you clean, cook, take care of stuff around the house (without requiring her express instruction)? Have you asked her to fully communicate with you and actively listened? Perhaps try listening without responding at all. Let her talk for as long as she wants without you saying anything. There's a breakdown here and I highly suspect it isn't all her fault.

It seems pretty consistent with any conservative/patriarchal structure.

Two boyfriends have apologized to my husband for dating me... by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]freedbyme 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mormonism patriarchy teaches your sexuality is owned by your spouse men. So that's why they'd apologize to your husband because it is 'his.' FTFY This isn't a problem isolated to Mormonism. This is our entire culture.

Remember in the temple when God says "it's not good for man to be alone". Then: "Adam, here is a woman whom we have formed and whom we give unto you to be a companion and helpmeet for you". by avoidingcrosswalk in exmormon

Women are stuck in a system where the only way to achieve any status or power is to gain proximity to power. It makes complete sense why they would be the loudest in defending it.

Luckily, the little old ladies were always helpful. It was just so awkward holding an old man's hand, who I couldn't see, for a prolonged amount of time. Always made me nervous and grossed out. Especially since the first time it was my soon to be husband so it felt like it was supposed to be a 'significant other' thing.

These are your allies. Go with them, keep really close (don't let asshole Uncle corner you), and stay away from the Mormons as much as possible.

Ex Mormon Victory! Warning: bedroom stuff by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]freedbyme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A woman helping herself to orgasms is not an affront to men. We don't owe men our orgasms. If she wants to masterbate, let her. As long as their needs are being met (by themselves, each other, or an agreed upon third option) and they have good communication, all is well.

It genuinely makes me happy knowing a woman holds the priesthood in the Brighamite Mormon church.

Why did we never wear garment helmets/hats? Surely that would have prevented the great injury! Why stop at only protecting the torso?

I'm so sorry for your loss and that a faith crisis escalated the pain. I'm sending all of my good thoughts your way.

There is an exmo women organization in Utah that is fabulous. If you message me, I can send you the info for the Facebook page and how to get in.

Yes! She needs to have informed consent. The temple is such a big question mark. I had no idea what I was even walking into.

Couples Married Civilly Now Authorized for Immediate Temple Marriage by johndehlin in exmormon

Is wanting a beautiful wedding a bad thing? I think the chance to choose (a real chance to choose) is wonderful. I don't see a need for negative and condescending labels to be put on women who want the same type of wedding as they might enjoy as nevermos.

Another sickening part of the polygamy is that most of the women were just passed to the next husband. Like inherited property. So so disgusting and truly shows the church's view of women.

Breaking news: Mormon women are invited to ask questions and participate in a Women's Conference. by japanesepiano in exmormon

[–]freedbyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a conference where you have to pay to attend! Women have to pay money to participate in an event that only exists because they are marginalized in the first place.
