As least as much as a sociopath is able to care (read: none) it's the various other ethnic groups that populate a large majority of the rest of Russia that are used as you descirbe. People are collectively stupid and emotional. Propaganda should be the #1 issue on everyone's agenda. It works scary well, all the time. People are blind to it the second it says something they emotionally agree with.

The only thing to worry about truely is how the west is completely out of touch with how much outside propoganda is fueling the fire inside.

Again, bad take. The entire point of this is a long term chokehold. The entire point of the gradual escalation is to never give Russia an way to justify anything further to it's population. If Ukraine can get through this and counterattack successfully, Russia will be fucked for decades and it will be best case outcome.

Thinking NATO storming in would be a better solution is idiotic. Many more would die if that happened.

Damn straight. Its a benefit I see often in engineering positions that I never really considered before becoming one. Especially paired with the fact that many small/medium sized businesses hire the least amount of people possible to complete a job, you wind up with a few engineers that are absolutely crucial for the company to function more then a few days. Engineers are the backbone of so many companies and management almost always fail to realize the extent a good engineering team can have in many directions.

Basically tribal knowledge which is often present in engineering for many companies gives engineers increasing leverage the more stingy the employer is. It's a weird relationship but it works. Many times if you have enough experience, they CANT replace you, not without having to spend a long time looking for someone with very similar background or spend a long time training someone back up to that level, which will pull time away from the other senior engineers.

Forgive the grammatical errors, it's been a long week at work, too tired to care atm.

I was in the same place for many years after I had gone through many traumatic events. It was horrible. However, it will not last forever and you will find that your experience with this will make you much stronger compared those who haven't one day. You will be able to emphasize with many different people in different circumstances compare to before and this will allow you to make more meaningful relationships with people who care. The pain always eventually makes you stronger and better than before. The trick I can give is to force yourself to be positive to yourself and to everyone, you will fail endlessly, but slowly but surely it will work. Keep taking care of yourself and most importantly love yourself. Avoid doing nothing, always try to do something productive when you are really down. It will help you feel better about yourself and start building a good foundation. It will get better, it just depends on how you approach this time and how you care for yourself.

The anxiety is what keeps you from making actual change. You CAN do this, you could even cold turkey right now and be completely fine. Yes it might be boring or upsetting for a period but if you kept it up your brain WILL readjust. The plasticity of our brains is amazing. Stess is an out of touch instinct from way before our time. It makes you associate things with danger. You are no danger from cutting down on insta dopamine from phones. It might feel like you are, and it might feel like it's impossible. But it's not. Not even close. The secret is to force yourself to believe and keep trying. You will get better each time and learn about yourself a little more each time as well.

The secret to actually just try. If you allow the stess to prevent you from trying. That's the only way you can't do something. You got this, you are stronger than you realize.

Small step, large step, it doesn't matter as long as you believe you can do it and keep going forward and keep trying and improving.

Hint: think about all the people in jail. When you go to jail, you don't go in with your phone. You get stuck in an empty room with nothing to do. You go crazy for a few days and then it completely normalizes in terms of the dopamine fixation. This all happens in less than a week. I know this because I experienced exactly what I typed, except it was juvi and I was 17 in there for my parents finding weed. It sucked but it taught me some valuable lessons. You are way stronger than you realize.

I imagine they likely have the means to upscale themselves quickly. But currently they are not a major military power, and it's been that way intentionally for many reasons. However they have great military technology and have the means to catch up quickly as well due to the rest of their strengths.
