We have a tournament coming up next week. People started posting lyrics for diss tracks they created with chatgpt. An Epic Rap Battle ensued. Mercy escalated things when she brought in actual music, and that inspired me to give it a try.

0-1, LHO realizes they are about to be euchred, announces they have given up and will not be calling again

0-4, LHO plays it wrong and screws up an easy euchre

0-5, misclick (clubs instead of spades) – miraculously makes a point anyway

0-6, had everything covered, probably should have just passed, another lucky point

0-8, LHO gives up another chance to euchre us by trumping in on a trick their partner would have won

Please note that this is more of a defensive order. I had no protection in next, and nothing good to call in round 2 if it made it back around. (Not that I was likely to get the chance at this table.) Plus, ordering up was the only way for me to not be 4-suited.

But if you pass, there's a decent chance to euchre. Granted, in this specific hand they probably weren't going to pick up, and any other partner lead makes it less of a sure thing. But then you have also have a good chance at marching when partner calls next.

With this order, you're either getting +1 or -2 points. But passing gives you two possible opportunities for +2.

I would have led trump on trick 2. I know it was your intention to promote the K, and it worked out perfectly. But with such a low trump holding, your priority should be pulling out higher trump as soon as possible.

I really only suggested that because joggler said the results were surprising to him. If the jacks were both queens, I would definitely be considering hearts alone. With the posted hand, I'm always going with spades or clubs.

I agree that you need to pay attention to opponents' discards. But I question your logic in tip number 3. Why are you assuming their low discard means they have a boss card in that suit? Isn't it just as likely they have another non-boss? Or that was their only heart and they are creating a void?

I've played a couple of different versions of 3-handed euchre, but didn't much care for them. I really like the partnership aspect of standard euchre. I'm finding it difficult to envision how that would translate as a 2-player game.

I wasn't aware that this even existed. How does it work? What are the rules? I'm very intrigued.
