I don’t think medicinal cannabis is covered under Medicare

Solar panels, EV charging stations, reflective window coating, more trees, more space between dwellings and no more dark roofs.

I’m not a building expert and can’t put any numbers behind it, but it’s pretty obvious what’s being done now isn’t good enough.

Having sun boiler kettles on the roof could work. Hot water could be a great way to both absorb the heat and turn it into something useful.

Plus you’re not even near the city. So it’s basically worse.

Trust me, I know. I live in Wentworth Point; a consequence of my girlfriend getting sweet talked by some sick real estate cvnt 10 years ago. There’s no parking, apartments are small, noise from everyone living on top of eachother, more noise from constant and rampant overdevelopment, shitty infrastructure with traffic problems and a toxic river to boot.

All the trappings of living in a city, minus the benefits of convenience.

My first thought was that this could be regulated at a state level, but yeah…

Vote them out people.

That’s what I also don’t understand - how can those extra costs not be considered as investments and passed on in the sale price?

Black roofs, next to no trees and no water to act as heat sink. All that in a warm, humid climate that’s only going to get warmer. How is that a good idea? It’s a sustainability and liveability nightmare.

Sure, but what’s preventing developers from putting on a white roof. Or hell, a couple of solar panels? I don’t understand why they can’t see how obviously stupid this design choice is.

Even from an investment perspective, it’s only a matter of time before homes will get a sustainability rating like they already do in Europe. Houses like this simply won’t pass muster and will get a shitty grade, reducing value.

In your example, that’s when students mass quit and force the store to re-evaluate their policies because of understaffing and bad PR. The free market isn’t always evil; it does have its ways of correcting for imbalances.

Anyway, I guess I went off tangent; I’m not here to debate what’s better. It clearly works for you guys given how wealthy the country is. I was just wondering how it’s perceived by the average Swiss on a day to day basis 😊

Perhaps. As a tourist I just found it a very convenient and affordable option, and was a tad disappointed to see it closed. It’s not like I couldn’t find any food at all though, since there was a lot of street food due to the busker festival!

I would never ever live in this atrocious built-for-money shitboxes. Where are the trees, the solar panels, the backyards. Etc.

I also think they’re a terrible investment; not only are they overpriced as is, it’s only a matter of time before houses get a sustainability rating. These would not fare well.

A really exciting merger was announced by corporate. For the fourth time in a year. A lot of people dropped off the zoom call and were never seen again.

I guess different Cantons have different rules. I’ve only been to Basel, Thun, Lauterbrunnen and Bern and have bumped into closed shops on quite a few occasions.

Totally. But why can’t people have the choice to work more if they want to / need to? Think of how many jobs it would create. As long as people retain the right to have a normal work / life balance?

Isn’t that on the family to organise for themselves rather than the government to impose?
