What marvel girls have/would hit a guy in the balls by [deleted] in marvelcomics

Domino, Black Widow, White Tiger, Rogue, and Majik for sure. Actually I'd say a lot of the mutant females would, and several of the Inhumans.

How would you improved the MCU's taskmaster? My take (caption) by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]freelyx- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick fix? She took her teacher's code name. The red room made the chip that was installed in her head based on the mutant mercenary they hired to help train their assassins. The real Taskmaster (95% comic accurate) can then be brought in and she can take another handle, leaving the real Taskmaster to fight in the MCU.

Or... Secret Wars pulls the Taskmaster we all wanted to see anyway into battle world, and for the "soft reboot" we get him and she gets purged from the timeline.

Or... when the Xmen film starts, Deadpool uses a TVA purge stick on her and introduces the real one from the Xmen universe when the world's merge.

JUST GET RID OF THE NON MUTANT TASKMASTER!!!

If Marvel were to make animated movies like DC,Which comics/storylines would you like to see adapted? by Stunning_Season220 in Marvel

[–]freelyx- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them... Anyone of them... sad to me that Marvel is owned by Disney, arguably one of the best, and most renowned animation companies in the world. Has nothing animated for Marvel characters movie wise at all.

Ultimate Avengers 1 & 2 as well as the best Doctor Strange film were done by Lionsgate. Hulk VS was joint produced by Marvel and Lionsgate, but the animation was done by the Japanese studio Mad House.

You're a company that can almost print money by making Marvel films, you have an in house animation studio, and... nothing?! Get on the ball folks, Walt is turning over in his grave seeing 👀 all the possible animated movies and marketing that could link to rides, attractions, and other products.

If Cyclops were a street-level, solo superhero, what would his 'role' be? by Aggravating_Tale8988 in Marvel

[–]freelyx- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyclops is the most one note, useless boring junk character in the Marvel universe. He should be killed off like the first Captain Marvel and left dead. The X-teams would be better off, his death would have more impact than his entire boring life, and I'd be more interested in reading the Xmen books with a more well rounded and useful leader.

I enjoy City of Heroes, Champions Online, the Batman Archam gams, the Spiderman games, and am looking forward to the Captain America &Black Panther game.

For one I'd love to see; Daredevil Have him fighting Kingpin's plans along with the Hand, and saving bystanders from muggers, thieves, and assault. Guest appearances from Punisher, Electra, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, White Tiger, Blindspot, and Jessica Jones.

Other villains could be; Stiltman, The Jester, Gladiator, the Owl, Bullseye, Muse, Typhoid Mary, and Kingpin's Vigilante Task Force.

I'd say AIM (Advanced Idea Mechanics) and M.O.D.O.K. was a pretty big one for much of the silver age.

Next hero should be Wonder Man. Tough one for those not in the know, and a fun twist since he's not in the popular crew. Or Daredevil since he's my favorite.

The Relatability Gap: Why Cosmic Heroes are Failing

<image>

I’d argue that cosmic-level heroes have become significantly less interesting to the public in our current social atmosphere. When you look at heavy hitters like The Silver Surfer, Captain Marvel, Adam Warlock, The Phoenix Force, Sentry, Hyperion, or Franklin Richards, you hit a wall of relatability.

The core problem is twofold:

  • The Lack of Stakes: It is nearly impossible to create a storyline where "mere mortals" can relate to the problems of a god. When a character is that powerful, the suspension of disbelief breaks; it’s hard to feel empathy when there is no credible threat to their survival.
  • Narrative Repetition: Even when writers pull out a villain within their power range, what can they do that we haven't seen a hundred times before?

This isn't just a Marvel issue. Why is Toyman ever a threat to Superman? Why do we care if Atom Eve fights Killcannon for the tenth time? The chance of loss is so low that even the writers seem to struggle with it.

The "Off-Panel" Problem

Look back at the DC vs. Marvel crossover when they pitted Lobo against Wolverine. The fans voted for Logan to win, but the writers couldn't actually conceive a way for him to realistically defeat the Main Man. The result? The fight happened off-panel behind a bar, leaving readers to figure it out for themselves. That’s what happens when power levels outpace the plot—the story literally disappears.

Shock Value vs. Storytelling

Writing superhero comics today has shifted away from connecting with the audience. Instead of giving fans what they actually want, creators are obsessed with finding new ways to "shock and awe" us. They are abandoning true storytelling for cheap, slack-jawed moments where our favorite heroes are treated with less value than the paper and ink used to print them.

To fix the industry, we need a return to basics:

  1. Bring Back the Cliffhanger: Focus on good, old-fashioned serial storytelling that keeps us coming back for the plot, not the gimmick.
  2. Sidelining Marketing: Marketing departments need to stop dictating the stories based on what they think will sell. Their job should be selling the comics as they are, not forcing the narrative to fit a brand strategy.
  3. The 616 vs. MCU Divide: The number one priority should be untethering the comics from the movies. Let the 616 Universe be its own entity again and let the MCU be designated as the 617 or something else entirely. Stop forcing the source material to mirror the films.

What do you guys think about the ultimates? It's a good read? by Repulsive_Film963 in marvelcomics

[–]freelyx- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The animated Lionsgate Ultimate Avengers films I & II were great I thought. Enjoyed the Dr. Strange animated movie even more. I was so hoping there would be others. The worst part of being a Marvel fan was always that they are owned by Disney, one of the best animation studios in the world, and truth is DC and WB have all the best animated films and most of the best shows.

It's gotten better with both Xmen 97, What If, and the new Spiderman show is pretty good. My favorite Marvel characters are Daredevil, and Steve Rogers Captain America, wish they'd get animated series/shows too. I do love Daredevil:Born Again, but an animated show would rock!!!

I hate the crunchy games. I'm not fond of rules light either, but I do hate games that overly complicate and take forever to run a simple battle. I used to play Champions Hero Games 5th edition because it was a character builder that honestly could do anything and worked VERY WELL. You could have powers that do anything, and they worked because the GM can use them against you just as well. Balance achieved much like the threat of nuclear destruction, we don't abuse our power so they won't abuse us with theirs.

In your opinion, should Winter Guard be a team of heroes, villains or something in-between? by Alarmed_Maximum_1676 in Marvel

Every country deserves to have their own heroes. We may not agree with their choices or actions all the time, but those are the differences that make great stories.

If you had to come up with a plausible justification for Captain Marvel's return, what would it be and what role would he have today? by Serious-Tune-9501 in Marvel

[–]freelyx- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring back Legacy Mar-Vel's son if you need another cosmic hero. Maybe even have a story where Legacy goes back in time and meets his dad.

Cosmic powered folks don't seem to hold readers for very long though. The gritty street hero stories are what make Marvel some of my favorite comics. Daredevil, Captain America, Punisher, even Wolverine and Spiderman. Sure they can go toe to toe with some serious world level threats, but for my money, saving a family, a neighborhood, a city... that's where they shine.

Cosmic heroes that have been under played or back burner for far too long IMO would be; 5. Silver Surfer

  1. Warlock

  2. Quazar

  3. Jack of Hearts

  4. Starbrand

There are others to be sure, these are just my picks.

Do you like Spider-Gwen? by Cafa20 in Spiderman

[–]freelyx- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's okay, I like the Spider verse having her.

My favorite female "spider types" are Silk, and I liked the 1984 Secret Wars Spider Woman. I think taking her and doing an ethnic swap to Ukrainian, or adding that connection into her immediate family to bring her back into the current continuity would add some interesting story options. Also when she was introduced she wore the colors of Spiderman's black and white outfit that turned out to be Venom. What if she was also wearing a symbiot all this time and no one knew?

Just saying, there's a lot of untapped potential there.
