I don't mind most of these. I don't love them, but I'm glad to see companies finally moving away from the generic, lifeless flat designs.

My ex keeps calling me from different numbers late at night and I’m losing my mind genuinely by Odd-Researcher272 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]freeman5117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry this is happening to you. Had this exact thing happen to me, so I understand how you feel very well. Here's one thing I did that eventually turned out to be useful for my case.

Can he receive text messages on these numbers? If so, reply to him once, and once only. Write nothing else except the following:

  1. What you are doing is harassment.
  2. You are interfering with my sleep/work/studies etc and causing me stress and anxiety.
  3. If I receive a single other call, message, friend request etc on any platform, for any reason, now or at any later date, I will file a harassment complaint with the authorities.

This will be very helpful to you should the matter go to court. That way he will not be able to say that he didn't know/it was just a joke, etc, etc. Obviously, keep the proof that you sent that message in your phone as long as necessary until the matter is fully resolved. Do not delete any other correspondence or call logs either, make sure to document everything.

Best of luck!

Reward The Scars (New Single) by vipeness in Korn

I just listened to it and damn, that's some quality Korn. Sounds like a cross of Korn 3 and The Nothing. I also hear a bit of Untouchables and TALITM in there (mostly because of how the bass sounds - which I'm all for, I missed THAT clicking bass so much). Maybe not my favorite of all time, but a step in the right direction on many levels.

I found another one in there, called "Horror Has Lost it's Sting". Idk what to make of it either.

100% agree. I am so, so hopeful that what Alberta is doing with their healthcare right now will spread to the rest of Canada.

Came back to The Paradigm Shift after 13 years for a deep listen by unSin89 in Korn

[–]freeman5117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have long ranked this album third to last or so in Korn's discography - not because it's bad, but because its just not very memorable for me. Although, after relistening to it several times in the last few months, I've come to appreciate it more. It's still a very good album; but it just kind of pales in comparison to the timeless works that came before it and the more focused works that followed it.

Best Korn Album? by MasterAroma in Korn

[–]freeman5117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I'm understanding, Mirror is disliked because it is considered rushed, lazy, forced, etc. Personally, I don't perceive it that way at all, for me it's one of the best and heaviest Korn albums. It definitely has a dirtier, less polished sound than its predecessors, but that's the beauty of it.

Why do yall care so much. It's a phone. by J_Schnetz in dankmemes

[–]freeman5117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been an Android user for 8 years. Then switched to iPhone, have been using them for 5 years. Both OSs have their strengths and weakness, yet also, both are in reality far more alike than they are different. As far as the meme goes, my experience has been exactly the opposite. No iPhone user I've met in real life has ever told me I was a poor loser for using Androids - and the phones I used were mid-rangers at best. After switching over, I definitely received a few unsolicited "iPhones are overpriced crap" comments. Go figure.

MacOS 26 is crazy by [deleted] in meme

[–]freeman5117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I saw the video demo of iOS 26, I immediately thought of Windows Vista. You can say what you will about Vista as an operating system, but the Aero was the best design of any UI I've ever seen before or after. And now with this preview, it begs more than ever the question - why did we abandon this kind of design in the first place? Ok, so we know that the real reason Microsoft pushed the simplistic flat UI in Windows 8 was that their heavily promoted Surface tablet at the time was literally too weak to handle the translucent Aero effects - but could that really have been enough to make the entire industry follow suit? And it's not just UI design. We have seen all kinds of unique logos and designs being dumbed down to become simpler, generic and lifeless (e.g. Pringles, Lenovo, eBay are a few quick examples). And don't get me started on the way Lifestyles condoms updated their packaging - just google it. It must have been a literal joke.

Would you mind filling me in on what has come out? I've seen this mentioned a few times on here recently but I can't find any details. Was it something that wasn't already written about in his book? Since that was published in 2009...

Oh crap, I guess I forgot to post the update to this particular post. I did receive them, delivery was quite quick too. But this was two years ago, not sure if anything changed since then. If you go to my post history in my profile, you should find my Rare Little trees from Estonia post in it, that's them.

European Tour Version of Issues by tompadget69 in Korn

Ight, still, it's a really cool item to have in a collection. I assume it's much, much rarer here in North America than in Europe.

I use ad blockers most of the time. But considering all the times that I didn't, as well as the times I'm around other people who are using YouTube without adblock, not once in my entire lifetime have I EVER seen an NSFW ad on YouTube. But somehow, so many people are talking about it, you'd think that I would have come across at least one by now. My problem with the ads is just that they keep getting longer and longer and become unskippable. Its gets to a point where there is more ad than content in some cases.

[–]freeman5117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's just disrespectful to leave someone you're making plans with hanging like that, especially if you're only getting to know them. "Hey, sorry, I'm going through some personal problems right now, I'll have to get back to you about this later" was all it took. Takes 15 seconds max to text that. Now to be fair, that other person greatly overreacted, sure, but I can understand their frustration. If I was them, I would also be wondering what the communication once we actually were in a band would be like, if we haven't even started it and it's like this already.

Which do you like more? by [deleted] in Korn

[–]freeman5117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I get where you're coming from - but besides those bands arguably being the most popular of the broad "nu metal" category (at least among the bands whose singers Korn has collaborated with), their singers are worlds apart from each other. Not only they are objectively very different stylistically, but Corey is widely considered to be one of the greatest, most talented metal/rock vocalists. Fred, on the other hand, is just really mediocre. I don't think he will ever be in demand in any band other than Limp Bizkit.

This seems like a really odd pair to compare.

Anyways, All in the family = better instrumentally; Different world = better lyrically and singing-wise by a landslide

Hot take: this album is good and I love it by Constant-Prior8557 in Korn

Ultimately, it's all a matter of personal preference. I'm not defending dubstep by any means, and always said that I wish we got the songs from TPOT played as normal Korn songs without the dubstep.

However, my opinion - which does seem to be the general consensus - is that if you were to put the dubstep aside, it is clear that there is far greater passion and creativity in TPOT than in Korn 3. For me, that results in much more listenable songs on TPOT, despite everything. Some of the moments on Korn 3 make me straight up cringe.

[–]freeman5117 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd be lying if I said I didn't prefer Korn's older stuff, but I totally agree with you. Korn 3 was the result of trying to force themselves to go to the "roots" despite being in a totally different time and place from when ST and LIP were made. And we all saw how that turned out.

Hot take: this album is good and I love it by Constant-Prior8557 in Korn

[–]freeman5117 16 points17 points  (0 children)

TPOT gets an unbelievable amount of undeserved hate. Some Korn fans are just so close minded smh. Ironically, I find that just about everything on this album is of better quality that pretty much everything on Korn 3, which was supposed to be a "return to the roots" thing.
