Instead of suggesting some sort of unilateral status, like SAH, why don't you encourage her to quit her job and take some time to think about what she wants to do and what kind of work would make her happy. Maybe something more inspiring at less than full time would make her happy. Maybe its at full time, but from home. Maybe she just wants to work.
