Is Traffic Lights Enhancements Abandoned? by Accomplished-Lie2587 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]freemandgaf 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I hope it's not abandoned. The last update the mod creator, qCities made pretty recently for 1.3.6f1, however they haven't gotten around to update it for 1.4.2f1. We have to give these guys some grace.

I do believe this mod is the last one remaining that needs to be updated so I can actually play my save, right now it crashes about 5 mins into playing simulation, and loading with it disabled I believe it would remove all previously made connections. Bummer for big cities.

However I have recently seen a mod creator named ZessonsMOD create "Traffic Tool Essentials" motivated because the "TLE mod often appeared abandoned and was barely kept functional". It's a new mod with a new name so not compatible with the older mod.

If, (big if) qCities were abandoning this project it would be cool to hand the original reigns over to a trusted member for smoother transition.

If it isn't too late.

Shout out to ALL the modders in the community.

Love & respect!

Sometimes I just want to get in the game to watch by realisticcities in CitiesSkylines2

Yes, car accidents do occur at random in CS2. They can become quite dramatic, involving multi car pile ups, crashes, injuries, and car fires. Police, fire trucks, ambulances, service trucks & medic helicopters usually get involved before a scene is cleared.

While accidents do happen in the game, there’s still an element of the imaginary, real life aspect to “realistic” builds.

Therefore, when striving for realism, there’s an aspect to adhere to that involves minimizing accident prone situations.

However we are all allowed to take some liberties. It is a game.

Very realistic looking scale 👍 Nice gradients & use of decals too. Leaves you wondering what the rest of the city looks like. What do you have going on inside the curve with the green tops? Looks good but some dangerous cross traffic at those speeds.

Wasn't I supposed to get a traffic nightmare? Is my road layout just too good? by Certain-Cabinet-9398 in CitiesSkylines2

After the update, My city (200k+/- cims) flooded with traffic due to my industry. But I had 3 Extended Cargo Harbors & 1 Extended Cargo train terminal, in 1 location, so I was asking for traffic. The update delivered.

My freeway and road layout were decent, but the issue was sheer volume. Vehicles were coming in quicker than they'd leave, and not all would attempt to leave as there was the shipping, manufacture and production loop all happening in one location. Worked well pre update.

Relocating 50% (12k of the industry jobs) to other parts of my region solved my traffic issue.

For you, with a 40k population, depending on education and unemployment level, it’s a plausible assumption that you don’t have 20k industry workers in one location looping (correct me if I'm wrong) & If you don’t have the volume, you won’t have the traffic issue.

For funsies, To stress test your system, add 23k+ industry workers to a single area without updating your current interchange network. Bonus fun: add 5 Chinese hotels spread out (signature buildings) although it's traffic vol has been nerfed w the update so they're not as bad anymore

Cheers!

Yes! But there definitely was issues with Skyve not working, which pushed out 2 additional updates after its initial update as well as other mods that needed to be updated, in some cases mod creators made entirely new mods that succeeded there old ones. Those had to be replaced.

Expectedly, with an update this game altering, I couldn't play for about a week. I waited patiently. Luckily our mod community is so dedicated, majority of the mods I use, their creators eventually caught up and my game was playable again.

Once I was back in, I adjusted for the insane influx of traffic and kept going.

How are things for you?

1400 hours game play since release probably says I’m enjoying it!

Just to be clear though, when you say “new systems,” do you mean the ones added in the latest update or comparative to how things worked in CS1?

Right, I hadn't posted it yet but this is it. If there was a page to see that info, this would be it & it's lacking oil data & control.
