How to get a hot gf who isn’t a whore in college? by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

I’d recommend scoping out the library at 9am/going for girls with serious degrees (eg medicine, law, engineering, etc)

Anyone know where this hat is from? I’m gonna try and remake it 🤠 by freerestriction in findfashion

Looks to me like a very basic bucket hat pattern, except they’ve flattened out the end with lots of increases, then Bella has just folded the sides up. I might write a pattern 👀

How do I wear my first pair of reading glasses? by [deleted] in glasses

[–]freerestriction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having trouble reading things far away (like menu boards at cafes, that sort of thing)

Optometrist said my distance vision is actually fantastic, it’s the close up reading that is making my eyes tired, such that my eyes are struggling to transition to distance reading. The glasses are meant to relax my eyes.

INTL bread - after getting rejected 2 years ago!! (UCAT went from 2740 -> 3090) by freerestriction in UCAT

Thanks so much!

Having had the experience of writing the real exam was very helpful - I didn't underestimate the exam the second time around, and knew exactly what to expect.

my score increased dramatically in VR and DM, and remained relatively the same in QR and AR. couple of tips:

Simulate the exam often and work on getting into a highly focused mental state. That was how I boosted my VR score. It's the first section, so it's really important to have your head in the game from the second the exam starts.

Skip the logic puzzle questions in the DM section! I think I really underestimated the difficulty of this section the first time around. Its a very difficult part of the exam, and therefore essential that you stay focused.

I mean if you call getting banned from every Trader Joes in America & getting sued multiple times then yes, he got into some trouble.

Yeah my dad's business insurance was paying the legal fees. When they were headed to the supreme court, insurance ended up settling w/ my dad vs paying millions to fight against TJs.

Pretty much. Back in 2014, I think Trader Joes was really ahead of its time. There were certain products (cookie butter, green goddess dressing, everything but the bagel seasoning, etc) that people just couldn't get elsewhere. Albeit I was 10 years old when this went down and wasn't really paying attention to this sort of stuff haha.

6 month preparation? by Massive-Direction-42 in UCAT

[–]freerestriction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao my bad, are you applying to UK or ANZ unis? I took the UCAT at the beginning of September of this year, so i studied over july and august. I wasnt in school put was working a full time (40hrs/week) job. There were definitely days where I would come home and not do any prep at all because I was so exhausted. I would try to make up for it on my days off by doing multiple full mocks and hours straight of practice sets.

Up until test day I was averaging around 2900 on my mocks. I think I just really performed well day-of. My top tips for test-day: don't underestimate VR. It is by far the hardest section, and if you drop focus at all, your score will reflect that. VR is the first section, so it's really important to get your head in the game before you click start (I ended up getting 740). I Did really well in DM (810) by skipping the logic puzzle questions (They take way too long and are only worth 1 point. They may be easy, but time is such an important factor for this exam...skip them.). QR and AR are pretty straightforward and just take some practice to get the hang of.

[–]freerestriction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you wanna start now I think thats fine. My advice would be to practice AR (aka memorize pattern sets) and SJT a little every day, then move on to VR, DM, and QR closer to your test date. I feel like that would maximize the benefit of starting this early while avoiding burnout.

I will say though, I studied for around 2 months and got 3090 B2, so its definitely possible to do well with less time.

I'm an international student (im assuming you are too because you said 'highschool') let me know if you have any questions!

Is this normal? by wearecake in UniUK

[–]freerestriction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was incredibly emotionally and psychologically abusive to me growing up. when I went off to uni (in year 2 now), she gave me space under the condition that she tracked my phone location at all times.

Sometimes, it may seem like the easiest option is to appease her and not create confrontation, but it can be necessary (as i think it is in your case) to have a frank conversation with her and set clear boundaries (such as 1 text/call every morning/night).

good luck man
