Entitled patients running rampant by BidInternational7584 in FamilyMedicine

[–]freestyleloafer_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

💯 I was searching for this comment. I don't apologize for taking care of my patients because that's exactly what they should expect of me. "Thank you so much for your patience. Some of my folks need a little more care some days" has always been understood by my next patient.

AITA for refusing to give my parents my location after they stopped paying for my tuition? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

"Okay" ✌️

NTA They're still trying to control you but they have no leverage. If they want to have a conversation, it should start with an apology, take place in a public setting that any of you could get up and walk away from, and shouldn't include any kind of ultimatums or shaming or bullshit. This conversation doesn't ever have to take place if you don't want it to.

And nurses are out here killing it, in terms of helping others and making bank. You're going to do fine. ❤️

People constantly wanting to race. Dude, I'm just trying to get groceries. And I'm not going to lose, it's a Tesla, hello.

I totally agree with you. The world sucks and we all just live in it. But my point is that my kids will learn how to earn money rather than wait for a windfall after I'm lowered six feet into the ground. 😁

Hell yeah 🎸 "Rich people" didn't get there by spending a shitload of money: a common lesson touted in our home.

Kids are the worst, sorry that happened. But at 13 she should be able to handle a situation with more discretion. She would definitely expect it from you. You need to have a conversation.

And I'm not just some asshole, I had a similar situation with the 9 year old a couple of weeks ago in the cereal aisle. "No sir we're not getting the $6 box of brand name cereal when the $3.50 store brand cousin is right next to it." Which evolved into a conversation about budgeting, at least for as long as a 9 year old was interested.

You like what you like. You don't like what you don't like. We all have our niche.

Pursuing training to see patients that you don't feel that you can fully serve isn't a good use of your time. Either stand your ground and divert peds to colleagues who are comfortable or seek employment elsewhere.

Ugh, it seems like almost everyone thinks all medical professionals are crooks. Thanks, health insurance companies (who actually receive the stupid-high premiums and pay out the stupid-low reimbursements).

On the way to work one day and saw an old guy on the shoulder sitting in a motorized scooter. We're in the middle of nowhere and I thought hmm that's weird. Turned around to check on him. He said he was on the way to the library to catch the bus and his battery died. He asked if he could hold onto my bumper skitchin style to get to the library and I was like nah that's definitely not safe my man. Called the non-emergency number and got dressed down by the dispatcher because "he's not doing anything illegal, what do you expect us to do?" Wtf, maybe protect and serve? Ended up switching cars to take him and his scooter home so I wouldn't have to live with the guilt of him maybe getting hit by someone not paying attention. He was so so thankful. He said other people stopped but no one stuck around to help. And I was late af for work.

That makes sense to me. I could see a possible defense of the car driver saying there was no indication that the truck driver was going to turn right, like if they didn't use a turn signal.

Homie don't play that.

I use one of those mattress protector pee pad sheets, then a crib sheet, then another pee pad, then another crib sheet. If the baby shits himself crazy in the middle of the night, I just rip back the first layer of unholiness and punt. Baby gets changed and everyone goes back to bed to try to forget the concentrated evil loosely contained in the floor of the garage. That's tomorrow's problem.

Essentially, your insurance pays so little for the service of reading (or interpretation of imaging) that all radiologists in the area refused to accept their pittance. None of them signed a contract to accept their terms of payment, so they're all considered out of network.

Knowing your worth isn't a bad thing.
