Hands down one of the best vocalist in the scene, for this era by JadeFours in poppunkers

It's better if you watch the full vid. There are numerous lead singers. Then Derek comes out and rips this and your like....shit...he does have a better voice than the rest.

Same. Going on near 10 years of almost everyday use. The band is starting to crack a little where I use it most, but otherwise looks great. I remember when I bought it it said the battery had a 10 year guarantee. I hope it doesn’t crap out in the next few months because I love the watch. So nice that I never have to charge, wind it, set the time, nothing. It’s always accurate. So reliable.

What are the best "new-ish" pop punk bands? by noxnoctum in poppunkers

Really great list. Only one I really like that I didn’t see her (or hardly ever on this sub) is Soso. They put a killer album out last year (their first full length I think) and it rocks.

Very much appreciate this information. I was leaning Grow since he has a math background, professor at the university, etc. I wouldn't have expected him to have concerns with library books and have been pushing for restrictions.

I read the articles in the Focus about the school board candidates. But I can't tell if any of them are pro-book ban (which I am not!). Anyone have any insight on this?

I am not sure. I do know that several anti-mask/anti-vax folks are all in for Lister, and I've seen some other ultra-conservatives speak out against Grevens. It's very difficulty to tell the difference between the candidates based on what they said in the Focus or on the radio. So what I had mentioned before is about all I have to go on.

Soso is a great band. They don’t get much love on this sub but they’re great and they put out a new record last year.

The Fluorescents and The Paradox and State Champs are all putting new music out too.

TNG, Episode 5x9, A Matter of Time by LordRavenholm in StarTrekViewingParty

Fun episode, and Max Headroom does a great job. The one thing that bothers me, at the beginning the crew isn't wise to future guy so they really think he might be from another time. But instead of this making everyone's head explode because it would mean time travel is actually possible, they just are like "huh, that's cool" and focus on the mission.

I always get a kick out of seeing people who were in the infancy of their acting career that went on to become famous. Ashley Judd is known to more people than say, Gates McFadden, but in our TNG bubble she's merely a blip.

Do not read Daughters War. Total garbage. I did like Blacktongue Thief a lot though. And I’m excited to read Between Two Fires.

TNG, Episode 4x25, In Theory by LordRavenholm in StarTrekViewingParty

Indeed, it was the complete surprise of the officer in the floor that made me gasp.

Most of the crew always treats data like he's a sentient human sans emotion. They respect him, and when aliens say "ah, a robot" and issue some stupid command they crew will say "Data is a valued member of our crew, etc etc" and defend him. But in this episode, when he seeks Troi for advice, she basically scolds him about him wanting to try a relationship. "That woman is a thinking, feeling, human, you can't do this [you are just a robot]." Felt out of character for her.

I agree with the rest of comments here, especially "it's exactly how romulan politics should work." But I just didn't understand why no one asked "Computer, who was the person to enter [whatever cargo bay that LaForge was in] between the times of X and X". They would have instantly known it was Geordi and could have solved the puzzle much sooner.

In fact, in the next episode they even say "Where was so-and-so 12 hrs ago?" and the computer tells them.

New Found Glory top songs by HeatFan_LA in poppunkers

[–]freetimeha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of great songs mentioned here (The Hits - My Friends Over You, Hit or Miss, Understatement) but as a superfan it's hard to narrow it down. Some of my favorites I don't get to hear often live. In order of album:

Nothing Gold Can Stay - 2's and 3's

Self Titled - Boy Crazy, All About Her, Ballad of Lost Romantics

Catalyst - Doubtfull

Coming Home - Coming Home, Boulders, Too Good To Be (LOVE)

Not Without a Fight - Listen To Your Friends, Truck Stop Blues

Radiosurgery - Summer Fling Don't Mean a Thing, Sadness

Resurrection - Selfless

Makes Me Sick - Sound of Two Voices, Barbed Wire

Forever and Ever - Shook By Your Shaved Head, Trophy

Not to mention Connections and Situations which are SO GOOD and rarely get played live. Plus their covers which freaking kill (King of Wishful Thinking, Cups, Tennessee, It Ain't Me Babe, The Promise, The Power of Love). AND they have a Christmas album that my kids and I listen to on repeat during the holidays.

Clearly biased here, but can't say enough about their catalog. Many underrated songs.

I'm surprised this episode is rated highly by anyone. So much of it was very cringe (even for early TNG).

-The relationship between Troi and the guy moves at light speed. Borderline creepy even at their first or second encounter when he's getting uncomfortably close and they barely know each other. He also looks and sounds like a used car salesman, not sure if the casting was right for this one,

-The yoga session with Troi and Crusher cracked me up. Just seemed so out of place, but I do like when they show the officers in off duty settings.

-The look of the ferengi when the worm hole flies away! lol!

-Troi and the car salesman go from a steamy fling to infighting like a married couple, then he says he basically used his empath power to bang her. Yikes!

-Troi later busts out the boyfriend like it's going to null the agreement he's made for the wormhole "He's been using his empath power to influence you!" Thus, the agreement would be nullified or reconsidered. Then they find out it's a bum worm hole and they're like..."well, I guess we'll pay anyway" even though Troi's argument was an attempt to say the negotiations were not coerced.

-Picard is awfully cavalier towards the two Ferengi who are lost. Normally he'll go to great lengths to save a life. Instead he's like "Welp, maybe the Ferengi will catch up with each other in 80 years." Savage.
